I found this great thread to get me started on some info about the Silverado SS. But I'd like to know if the Silverado SS was manufactured only in 2003 or are they still manufactured? Can't seem to find any good source on this. All I came up with was Wikipedia entry. Also, what differs between the different years? What is the ground clearence? I know this is not the ultimate off-road vehicle, but how does it handle light off-road? How many Silverado SS's were produced on the different years? Is there a VIN-decoder somewhere? montanass Posted October 20, 2006 Report Share Posted October 20, 2006 the SS was made from 2003 until 2007. the hoods and grilles changed in 2006 and in 2005 2wd was available for the first time and the 2006 & 2007's were only 2wd. In 2005 they began to phase out the AWD drive option and in 2006 made it exclusivley rear wheel drive. The ground clearence is decent, i am lowered a additional 2 inches and i can still clear curbs and parking stops. i think the build numbers were something like 1000 a year some years more some less.
