  1. Recently placed my order for a Whipple 2.3l 140ax from Stillen Performance and I can't wait for it to get here! I have been wanting to install a supercharger since I bought my truck and have been saving since I bought it to do the same. I attempted to do my homework on choosing a supercharger setup for my SSS and decided on Whipple. Seems like it all comes down to what you want to spend on a setup and what brand/type of supercharger your prefer for your build. I am curious as to how much boost my stock LQ9 will SAFELY take. The 140ax comes with a 3.625in pulley that is rated for 6-8lbs of boost. I have a high-flow exhaust (long tube headers, no cats, Billy Boat exhaust) so I know that will factor into losing 1-2lbs of boost off the top. From those who have supercharged the stock LQ9 before me, what is my max target boost before I run into driveability issues? Thanks in advance as I am looking to add a smaller pulley at the time of install since I am tuning via BlackBear Autocal.
  2. All, I am finally ready to pull the trigger on my engine build and wanted to gather some opinions from the experts on here. The build I currently have pending is as follows: 2003 Silverado SS with 67,000 miles JBA Long Tube Headers Full Custom Borla dual Exhaust with X-Pipe Whipple 2.3 kit Cam KitCam 227/234 .614/.576 113+2 Springs, retainers, etc Pushrods Fuel pump booster Custom Dyno Tune Everything else will remain stock My goals are 550-600hp & 500-550ft-lbs torque at the crank. 100% daily driveable. I am not planning to replace the torque converter. My main concern is the cam specs above. I have been told not to go above .551 lift on the LQ9. Anything higher than that will have clearance issues. The builder I am planning to have do the work for me recommended the specs listed above. Should I be alarmed? Thanks in advance.
  3. Truck is very well taken care of. only has 56k miles on it. paint is 9/10. needs a buff to be perfect, no scratches. interior is perfect, no rips. This is a real SS truck, not a replica, has factory 6.0L engine, with a whipple supercharger carb legal kit. long tube 1 5/8 headers (ceramic coated), no cats, into dual 3" mandrel bent piping with dual stainless steel flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, into magnaflow axle back chrome tips exiting behind r/r wheel. also included is stock manifolds and down pipes including catalytic converters, that bolt in. tuned with superchips flash programmer 24" chevy texas edition wheels with brand new tires - less than 200 miles on them locking tonneau cover. $25,000 or open to various trades, just ask.
