standby
Here is a new post concerning the installation of the GM 05’ electric fans in 2003 & 2004 Silverado SS’s only. This post is for strictly to tell you how I did it. It’s not a forum to comment on how you would do it better, nor is it a post for any vehicles other than 03’ & 04’ SS’s. If you looking to post that kind of information go here Will you not even let VHO's play?

creederado
I just thought I would post some problems I came across ordering the fans recently. First was that the motors didn't come with the 3 mounting screws. There special screws to attach the motor to the plastic shroud., Something I could'nt find in the parts store. My dealer was able to get them for me seperate., even though GM lists them to be included with the motors. Another thing I came across was the metal retaining clips. One comes with the motor, one comes with the blade. So there's no need to order them seperate. You only need one for each fan blade and you get 4 with the kit. It's good to have the two extra though because I beleive there 1 time use only. Happy motoring
zippy
very good points. the first set of these i was involved with installing the guy works for a construction company so fortunatly all types of screws were available.
Nightshift
Thanks vdrumright. Great instructions! This will come in handy in about a month. I received my fans Wednesday but they're damaged. The shroud is broken. These came off eBay, the guy is selling allot of them. Fans on eBay I still need the harness and the PCM update. The lowest I've seen them go for was $157. I assume he's getting them from GM's supplier(?). I didn't look close but the part # stamped on the shroud looked like what's listed here. I can unpack them and double-check. WW
NateZ
Did the shroud get damaged from shipping or?? I was planning on buying a setup from him aswell.. Nate
xxjiggaxx
It was probably from shipping. I bought mine from Zippy, and the fan shroud came broken, but zippy was cool, and sent me another one. Now I just need to put them on.
Nightshift
It was packing, cushioned on all sides but the ends. The seller emailed that he would take care of it. Waiting for him to return my call. WW

migs
Just so anyone who's bidding on the ebay fans the guy will sell them direct to you, no auction for $224 s/h included, so if you're bidding them up past $200 you've lost Money....
