Clifford
New member! I have an 03 SS AWD 4L65E transmission. I'm getting ready to do a trans service (fluid drain and refill, new filter). Since I will have the pan down, should I go ahead and put a shift kit in the truck to get better shift efficiency and less clutch wear? Transmission is shifting great right now although I do feel a slight slip every now and then. Not often. I only want to install a shift kit if it will extend the life of my transmission. That would be the goal. If it won't please let me know. Looking for recommendations on which kit to use. THANKS!!

Clifford
My local transmission shop with 100's of 5 star Google reviews is recommending I just have a transmission ECU tune done for $175. He told me he can get almost the same results with the tune as he can with a mild shift kit installation. He said he only recommends the shift kit if building/rebuilding the transmission for vehicles that do a lot of towing etc... I've decided to just do a drain & filter service and a tune. Thanks for the replies.
