redhotsiren
Am thinking of color matching the grill insets on the front including grill, bumper grill and air ducts grills. I see the air ducts grill have some type of attachment. Like a form of screw that holds the air duct and the grill insert. If I was to remove the screw/ribit, is there a way to to put it back to place?
elijah
Not with the original rivet. If your trying to take off the grill from the brake duct to paint it you would have to cut it off of the brake duct and secure it back on with something else. I used zipties. SSmoothSilSS
I went to Harbor Freight and bought there aluminum set and it worked fine. Not sure what size of rivet I used just try the one that fits the best.
redhotsiren
Thanks guys. Yeah I was afraid if I was to do it it would damage the air duct. Would the rivit break the plastic piece that holds the grill to the air duct break? I went to a body shop and they say they wouldn't even touch it cause they were afraid they would damage the air duct
matslp488
Yes it will break.... just use a saw and cut the rivets off that's what I did when I changed mine to silver ones
eberhama
I used the plastic rivets that hold the fender flares on the regular silverados.

SSmoothSilSS
I just did 2 ducts 8 holes with no problem. Plastic would be better. I try to get some pics, there already mounted back on the truck.

Doughty08
Very simple job, I just cut the rivets with my dikes and pulled it off and like the others are saying just go back with plastic rivets. I'm sure u can pick up a plastic riveter for around 15 bucks at the parts store. Just make sure u take the ducts off so u can work on it easier
