monster1213
After much research, I decided that these engines can benefit from a catch can and that I could make an effective one while saving a few bucks. A lot of credit to guys on LS1tech and Morphs on the Grrrr8 forum. I purchased an Ebay 'catch can' and modified it with parts from my local Lowes store. All said and done, I have right around $50 bucks invested in this set up including the purchase of the catch can. Here's the Ebay can I purchased: Not much to see on the inside: Edited March 22, 2017 by monster1213 (see edit history)
monster1213
I then made a template out of cardboard to get dimensions: And then turned that into the buffer/baffle using .025" steel: Added an inlet tube using copper pipe attached to the inlet port: Used the ole trusty JB weld to install and seal buffer/baffle in the can: And added stainless steel scrubber material in the outlet side to promote condensation of oil vapor: I attached my catch can with some spare brackets, nuts and bolts I had laying around to the alternator bracket and ran my 3/8" PVC hose. Pics of catch catch can installed: Edited March 22, 2017 by monster1213 (see edit history)
