I was introduced earlier today but this will be a build post for my 2000 Silverado 5.3 V8. I bought my truck a few months ago and decided to convert it into a SS. I will be keep this post updated with any new parts. If anyone has any tips/advice I will thank you in advance.

The first is how I bought it and the second is how it looks now.

It’s been a little over a year and the truck has transformed! I was able to find out which new brackets to buy for the conversion and completely swapped the front end to a 03-05 SS front end. 0aa51261ac2a9477a84694a8d2b3b8d6.jpg and the headlight brackets 1eb2951a4b8ec6a2301428f519167e2e.jpg While in the process of that I took it up to LA with no bumper and a random red hood to look for the center console and SS seats and I bought them. 0fc50c5b23c4e8cf337d9d8365d4cde8.jpg7ef2dbe97869332279db2ccedf45e7fa.jpg414a46f2bd2d67290e37b13b1fa2f375.jpg I started searching beyond the forum and I made a Instagram and found people around me with the same passion so I started talking to them and I met up with them before Christmas. 695b5240b84a6e29fec26de9d0299c42.jpg With there help and I was able to find more parts such as OEM SS claddings and front and back bumper from a T-boned SS. c9a4970b6fedfd1cbe7db8c1393dafc8.jpg Till this day I don’t have all my the claddings since it’s hard to find separate pieces. I was able to find a all black grill and smoked head lights and tails. 49b00e09d100fa4e573d76919af9f122.jpg5e83815e823b6a542b0ac732a5809389.jpg I was helped by my new truck friends and it was alive!!! e832ec2c37652f7c6d1d0b2c3b42e457.jpg After this I needed to paint the front end to complete the truck so I did and at the same time I bought some Intro wheels to look mean with the new look!!! So I thought about it for a while and decided to sell the wheels. Looking back I shouldn’t of but I could always shortened the diff before buying billets. I want to change the front end again but just the hood and grill to a 06-07 HD Cowl hood and 06-07 honeycomb grill so I bought a grill and swapped it out but now I just need the hood.e39bbb40d3dacf016d5ed93fcdb81d5c.jpg A little over a year and my project is still a project to me, it’s not on nice wheels at it use to be but it’s still mine! This was yesterday night d45567928824beb1865a56d7ca4c0889.jpg I’ll keep a update soon that way any new thing I do I’ll keep it posted! Thanks!

That's a huge change for sure. Looking good. No matter what... a project/build truck will never truly be complete. But that's the fun part is always finding small things (or major), to change up and have new and diff look after a few years. When it's "done" it can get boring with nothing to do lol. Can always keep a eye out for cheap stock wheels on Craigslist to run till you get the ones you really want again. I seen tony (NorCal SS) has some killer deals on some wheels not long ago so may find a deal on a nice setup and can sell down the road if you want when find some billets again. Tony has the site TBSSowners.com and a store to buy all kinda goodies like rep wheels and suspension parts.

I like the way you mounted the billet inserts in the 03-05 grille. Did you remove the stock mesh? I had a 02 I built and I cut out the stock grill mesh and shortened and removed a bar on my billet insert pieces then custom made brackets to mount them in but a little recessed. I always loved the look like that with no stock mesh behind the billet so have been thinking a lot about doing something similar to my 03-05 grille. I had a clone before my SS and tried it and it did work out, but was super flimsy even with the outline part still in there. Was a good test experiment so I'd love to hear what you did. It looks like you had to do that cause one pic looks like the billet is recessed into the grille? May be wrong but intrested to hear either way lol.

Also I haven't seen many cowl hoods for the 06 style. Assume they are super hard to find but intrested to see if you have a certain hood picked out already that you plan on finding. But keep the updates coming. Love seeing them come together. Nice work.
