Silverado2469 Posted April 5, 2016 Report Share Posted April 5, 2016 So found out today the used listons i have fir my 6.0 build are 1.2mm top ring. 1.5mm 2nd and 2.5mm oil ring. Found this out because my rings i ordered for stock ls2 pistons. Are 1.5mm. 1.5mm and 3mm... figured out in 05/06 vhevy did the 1.2mm and 2.5mm rings. Does anyone know why they did it? And also know why they stopped doing it? Did they have oil issues with the 2.5mm oil ring? Did they have more failures because of the small ring size? Is one stronger than the other?
