jncrowe12 Posted February 8, 2016 Report Share Posted February 8, 2016 Chevy used to make a good truck,there adding to many computers and trying to make them a .car.i have been stranded twice. the low engine power and traction loss comes on and the truck will only do about 15 miles an hr. this is very dangerous on snow covered roads, you traveling down the road and suddenly you lose power and traction, i was almost smashed in the rear end by another car. the newer the models get the more trouble I have! EXGM Posted February 9, 2016 Report Share Posted February 9, 2016 Do you have a check engine light on? If so that's those fancy computers telling you that you have a problem. Even if you don't I would check for codes. I would clean your throttle body if you haven't ever done. Sounds like it's going into reduced power could be a stabilitrac problem or something with the drive by wire. I saw a few throttle body's in my day go bad and cause your type of problem. Before I would go throwing money at parts I would have the problem diagnosed by a professional. Btw I would take a new computer controlled vehicle over an old one.
