NORCAL SS Posted April 7, 2016 Report Share Posted April 7, 2016 Are the Belltech Street Performance shocks recommended for an AWD SS at stock ride height or do you need to be lowered to run them? the ones i set up are for stock ride height or lowered. Also in rear i always set the shocks a little shorter makes them ride better for the silverado ss. The regular 2wd trucks use a different front shock. They are not interchangeable. That auction listed above was for a slight lift of up to 4-6 inches front and 4 in the rear. This is what you want for a stock ride height vehicle. 1999-2006 CHEVROLET/GMC SILVERADO/SIERRA 1500 6-LUG 4WD 2007 **CLASSIC** CHEVROLET/GMC SILVERADO/SIERRA 1500 6-LUG 4WD (CLASSIC MODELS WITH TORSION BAR STYLE FRONT SUSPENSION ONLY) BILSTEIN 5100 SERIES FRONT & REAR SHOCK KIT FOR VEHICLES WITH 0"-2.5" OF FRONT LIFT AND 0"-1" OF REAR LIFT FRONT BILSTEIN PART #24-186643 / REAR BILSTEIN PART #24-186742 I had the 4600 series on a regular 2wd and it stiffened it up a bit in a good way at least for handling. Sometimes a little stiff unloaded but not bad. It felt more solid than the original factory shocks. Over time they wore like any other shock. They still felt decent but to me, they were worn. hadadually Posted June 18, 2016 Author Report Share Posted June 18, 2016 Installed about five hundred miles ago, noticeable improvement but any new shocks would have been since one front and one rear was blown,overall I'm happy, still feels like it's riding on bump stops but they are new and I set the ride height to factory, I guess that's just how these trucks ride.
