Rays B4U
Both of my tail lights have developed the white spot areas the arrows point to in the picture. Has anyone else had their taillights do this, and can they be repaired? I've already replaced them but if these can be salvaged all the better! SSmoothSilSS
Hi Ray, mine are doing the same thing, they are the original ones, I think it a plastic coating inside, I never seen anyone repair them, I was looking at getting a new set off of ebay. Blown 346
It is the coating inside. It will start to flake away. I went out and bought these to replace mine. The guy uses all GM OEM lights, gives you the option to have what ever tint you want. This guy here. I can get pics of mine if you like. http://www.ebay.com/usr/smoked_lights?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
Rays B4U
Hi Clay, I was lucky enough to find a guy on PT.net that had a like new pair for an 03 for $90 shipped. I don't know if you are aware or not, but later years...don't know what year they changed....had a black or darker red outer lip than the 03's. SSmoothSilSS
2004 started the black edge around the lights. I was able to find the 03 type right and left side with non black edges on ebay and they look really nice. Here's the link, Passenger side- http://www.ebay.com/itm/291076925032?_trksid=p2055120.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Drivers side- http://www.ebay.com/itm/301093584406?_trksid=p2055120.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Downeast Johnny
OE replacement fixtures, both sides $91.00 & free ship at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Chevy-Silverado-Fleetside-Replacement-Assembly/dp/B00292H85M/ref=au_as_r?ie=UTF8&Make=Chevrolet|47&Model=Silverado%201500|491&Year=2003|2003&carId=001&n=15684181&s=automotive&vehicleType=6 My driver side is doing the cloudy thing too and it looks to me like a delamination of some sort because I can put pressure on the lens and the cloudiness will go away in that area. I have thought about injecting epoxy between the delamed layers, (hypodermic needle), but it would just be too much screwing around for a less than perfect result. 1BAD2K
Yeah its just delamination. No way to really fix it. Only can cover it up at this point by tinting or painting them.
