hank Posted October 10, 2004 Report Share Posted October 10, 2004 i'm using a 2.9 and love it. ben is right, i'm still working out my KR. i've had about 5 tunes. i'm just about to have my trans built and then i'm going to dyno it. i found one only 5 minutes from my work that says they can do my truck. btw, switching to a 2.9 gave me about 1.5 psi of additional boost. I was told by AZ Speed and Marine (my installer) that there is a security "marking" of some sort on the 3.0 pulley. They can tell if it's even been tampered with much less pulled off and reinstalled. As much money as I have put into this rig I didn't want to take ANY chances with putting on a smaller pulley. This thing is fast enough. Look what happened to Brent. He never did say what it was going to cost after he messed his engine up with that turbo but you can bet it's well into the thousands. BenKey Posted October 11, 2004 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 The 3.0" pullies are supposed to be for the regular 6.0L (LQ4). The 3.3" is supposed to be for the 6.0L HO (LQ9), which the SS has.
