fschambe
Why is GM so stuborn about keeping 16V pushrod engines?!?! C'mon guys, 32V DOHC 6L V8, let's start outperforming vipers with their 8L V10!!! What's the hold up?
DeathScythe454
Why change a good thing. I has always worked and you can get parts anywhere. Or you go to dual OHC's you have to change every design they have. Would it be a good idea. yes, Gm wana spend that money. NO.
RATFINK
One of the finest engines in the world is the LS1 pushrod based engines, it has redefined what a pushrod engine is capable of. RF
NewAgePirate
If you are worried about high-tech bs and want to diss a chevy pushrod then go to a civic ricer forum - they will love to hear you spew your stupid crap. Real chevy boys know the long performance history of the 16v pushrods we are "keeping." Talk to the folks out there with the old non s/c cobra DOHC 4.6 who would get stomped by SS ls1's stock. How would you like to pay for the complete re-design of the GM V8 motor in the sticker price? Instead of like 41,000 these things would be costing 50,000 or 60,000. SSilverado60
Why do you need that crap when GM can build a more reliable motor this way???? take the LS6 for example, it will consitently get at least 25mpg, has 405hp, and is reliable, also it can be made to produce BIG power numbers without much work. It doesnt need the dual cams and everything, dual cams are for cars that dont have the displacement to keep the torque numbers up down low
schmidty77
On the auto cross road courses where I live there is an 03' and an 02' Z06 that constantly give a Viper ACR a run for his money. Read what happens when lingenfelter twin turbos that push rod.
03BlackSS
It's like Harley-Davidson they only use pushrods (except those new v-rods that are really Honda-Davidsons)
