More Kelley Performance Interior LED Pics

Recommended Posts

here are some more photos of LED conversions, and some i think have not been done before (not sure... but curious :) ) heres pics from a few different conversions, some pics of my JGP truck and my SSS truck inside as well. they are both not finished (shoe makers kids have no shoes  ) cause im too busy doing all YOUR stuff :jester: all comments and suggestions welcome

will post more in separate post !

traction control unit (2wd):

DSC00993_zpsd423bbf2.jpg

^that button/light is my N20 purge, its "hidden" in a way as it looks like an LED (which it is lol) but its also a button  just stuck it there as it used to be where my fog light switch now is, when i didnt have fogs. thought it worked good here IMO

^i changed out the yellow status/indicator light on this unit to blue, NOTE: the resistor on the OEM yellow LED is on the NEGATIVE leg on the LED!!! you MUST install the LED backwards in this location! if you dont, it will ALWAYS be on as soon as you plug your fog module back in and will NOT come on properly. a lot of the OEM electronics work this way- constant 12v with switched ground

the infamous headlight switch :D :

DSC01016_zpsbb5f1f88.jpg

DSC01018_zpsb00656c5.jpg

^NOTE: i used black laquer paint on the parts of the LED i did NOT want to emit light, as to limit the amount of "stray" light that escapes out of the dimmer switch hole- i hate this fact, that light comes out of the dimmer dial area- this limits the amount A LOT from my different "tests" (ask Alex  )

DSC01032_zps9b55089f.jpg

DSC01041_zps41ff54be.jpg

^NOTE: yes those LEDs on the thermostat dial area do not match... the one on the left, is a blue LED. the one on the right, is a white LED. i tried a red LED but the outcome was not as good, trust me. the red also bled into other areas and just did not work well. you will see later down the thread how well it works :)

DSC01045_zps57dbeaa6.jpg

DSC01059_zps97363713.jpg

^NOTE: the blue gel film is not shown in the pics, but was added after and is there! i used a film that is slightly less "blue" than others seen on the threads, but i noticed with these films, daytime viewing is very hard since the film darkens the display. our film does NOT darken the display and is perfectly visible in daytime :)

DSC01064_zps2e467a43.jpg

Pictures might make it look like things are "hot spotted" but those who have seen this in person can attest to that being the camera... there are no hot spots, as that was my goal i set out to accomplish and it may have taken a lifetime but they are not there!

Onstar/Self-Dim Mirror:

DSC01066_zpsbfc50f5c.jpg

^NOTE: the LEDs here are facing towards the board, with the legs pulled back 180 and soldered to the board. the display is on the other side of the board, but the LEDs will NOT fit on that side, so i had them shine THROUGH the board

DSC01067_zps65b61283.jpg

DSC01070_zps8293b68c.jpg

DSC01078_zps84e8d603.jpg

DSC01084_zpsc4c51361.jpg

^NOTE: these mirror lights are NOT on your headlight circuit, these are ALWAYS on as you will notice thats how yours are now... when the mirror self powers/tests, the lights self test, and stay on all the time. this is no big deal, as you cant really see buttons with lights off if you have window tint. the dimmer is all the way down in this pic, hence the dim display for temp/compass (that DOES dim with light circuit)

more to come in a few, gunna get some food :burnout:

That N20 light/button is :pimp:

I lost my digi climate control "recirculation" light awhile back and the quote to have it fixed is ridiculous so Ive been thinking about this conversion for a little bit....I love the way yours turned out John. I am just worried the LED's will give me migraines due to light sensitivity from concussions.

here goes some more pics!! btw has anyone ever done a mirror? i dont recall seeing one... just curious.

REMEMBER we do these conversions if anyone would like one done. they are available in red, green, white, blue, and pink (still working on pink but it looks pretty cool so far for those, like 2, girls on here  )

more SWC pics:

DSC00969_zps9d4d304a.jpg

^i like to leave the silicone blue covers on the SWC, as they act as a "diffusion" lens to spread the light more even and not so bright either.

window switch/door module:

DSC00866-1_zpsd9b32106.jpg

^notice i added two LEDs to the window switches, they were the one dull spot on the board

back of a fog light switch- wanted to keep resistor out of the way :)

JGP cluster LED pics:

DSC00904_zps620dd6a7.jpg^that would be the SMD 5mm LEDs placed in all the stock light locations. from there out i use flat top 5mm LEDs to get the best of both :)

DSC00954_zpsf7b91047.jpg

^most of the lights installed... you might notice i used the black paint again to aim the light where i want it to go, and that some of the LEDs look blue. i use a blue sharpie a couple times on the tops to help break up and dim the light, so as more can go through the sides of the LED not just thru the top to hot spot. it actually works great. light still shines through the blue, but softer and less direct.

stock single disc / tape radio:

DSC00931_zps11034be7.jpg

^dont ask, thats a BITCH and 1/2!! and the white part has to depress down without making contact to anything :banghed:

I've personally seen this at the shop and I just shook my head at him and said wow lol. He does great work and is very very precise. Great work John but I would expect nothing less. Keep it up. Pics are great too btw. People can really see how much work goes into this.

How much to ship down my interior except dash cluster as it is already done from gm gauge guys and swap to blue LEDs ship back to mass ill pay the shipping both ways send it with a return shipping slip. and what would the turn around time be. in about two months I'm dropping my truck off to slowhawk performance for cam and a few other things but It would be a good time cause he will have it for about a week and won't need any of that stuff in it.

Damn man! That's some serious work. The rear view mirror came out sick. Gonna have to do that now.

As for everyone else... I have seen John's work as well... Absolutely no hot spots. Great work John!
