I've decided to go with a 408 stroker kit and have my engine built from top to bottom. Im planning on staying with the STS but maybe upgrading from the 67 to a 76. My tranny is solid but I keep hearing about people moving up to the 4L80. Does anyone have any insight to how much the swap cost and the work involved. Im also looking for any recommendations or advice with this and if anyone has a similar setup, what kinds of results are you seeing? 04CHASE Posted July 31, 2009 Report Share Posted July 31, 2009 the 76 may work on the bigger motor but there may be better options out there. if it were me id look to relocate the turbo under the hood. also an 80e swap will cost about 6k , trans , wiring , converter, drive shafts, cross memeber, input gear for the x-fer case, 4l80 tune file, wiring about covers it . there is a good write up by a member on pt.net.
