supraman
properly?......At cruising speeds the temp stays around 175 which is normal I believe, but when I stop the tempo goes over 200 and my fans do not come on as often if at all as they did. BenKey
I have a 160 stat and mine works fine. Make sure your thermostat is touching, or nearly, the side holding tank areas of the rad. That's what it took for mine.

What I am talking about here is the little pin-like thermostat that comes with the 282s.

supraman
What are the chances of getting the fans set up to run constantly? I had my FAL fans do this on my black supra.
mwalls54
you can ground out pin 6 or 7 on the vcm. not sure but some one will back me up. i have the same problem. when sitting in traffic it will heat up to 210 on me.
BenKey
If you short the two terminals that the thermostat hook to they will run 100% of the time, but at 100% speed. Which means they are pretty loud. As has been posted before, you could run your power for them in series, instead of in parallel - like they are now, and they will run at 50% speed, 100% of the time. You would still have to short out the two terminals where the thermo attaches, or run power directly, completely bypassing the VSC.
supraman
Well after sitting for 15 minutes at idle my ECT is 195-203....should this be acceptable? At cruise it stays at 172-
BenKey
195 is about where my fans kick on to take it down to about 180.
