Add Switches To Your Dash

I had some switches on my dash that I had to remove because I am adding a center console to my silverado ls. So I came up with this. I have seen this on other trucks so I decided to try it myself.

So here we go:

I started with a piece of black plastic hot glued to the factory piece.

Then cut off the portions that I dont need of the factory piece.

Test fit in the vehicle to see where to drill for the switches.

Drilled the plastic, installed the switches, and wired it up.

From the switch I connected a female cig thing so I could connect my gps.

Now I still have 2 switches left next to wire up my radar detector and maybe an inverter or something. Maybe I should add a fog light kit.

Looks great, but how did you get that piece OUT of the truck. I tried just "popping" it out like everything else but it wouldnt budge. Did you cut it?

There are some clips on the side and the top I believe, once its glued you can remove and reinstall it as a unit.

Note: instead of using a hot glue gun, silicone works better. it came loose had to fix it last week.
