chansharp
Hello, I have a 2000 silverado ext cab..5.3 vortech motor, and im trying to find a silverado SS motor and trannyy to swap into my truck. Also would it be worth changing out the ass end to the SS since the standard 2wd rear end is only limited slip..AKA one wheel peel. If anyone has any answers for me..please let me know. thanks

Instead of changing your rear to an Eaton G80 automatic locker(which is a P.O.S.), there are many aftermarket options that are a better choice like a Detroit TruTrac...... welcome to the site Edited December 13, 2008 by Fireman31 (see edit history)
misterp
YES the LQ9 6.0L engine is a far better performance platform to work with; and my recommendation is to install an Eaton TruTrac differential, the 4.10s are nice or you can find a set of 3.73's if you want to stay a little more economical on fuel mileage. The LQ9 is also standard equip in Escalades... Mr. P.
