Welcome to the site Mike! - Man there's a lot of mikes here haha

AK04SS, if you're hauling, you probably don't wanna go lower than 2" in the back. If you're looking for a mild budget drop that wont affect the stock ride much, turn the torsion bolts down in front and do 2" shackles in the rear. Shackles range anywhere from 60-100 bucks online. Or if you want, i think a few shops sell them in town for 80-120. If you go this route, I can help you with install as I have done it before. We just need a nice warm garage. You'll kick yourself in the ass if you pay a shop to do it once you realize how easy it is. Unless you're in a rush to get it done i guess...

Matt, I say chrome in the summer, silver in the winter. The road salt will take a toll on the chrome for sure after a while. Do you do the installs on the c10 yourself? I've always wanted a 68-72 C10 to work on!

Aksss, did you buy that SS with the turbo on it already? Because I know there was another sts truck that some dude got into the low 14s with or something not too impressive so he built up the motor n tranny only to sell it later? Not sure if its the same truck but I worked with the owners friend and he was telling me about it. Either way, good luck at the track! I hope to make it and see ya run!

10zin, whats good bro?! Haven't heard from you in a while. How's the truck? Ever get that daym turbo on? And yes, I love AK summers! The scenery and weather makes up for the shitty winters haha

As for the meet, I can't do anything till probably after April because school is really kicking my ass. Plus I hear its supposed to snow next week too so its still gonna be cold as shit! Daym you winter...

Anyone know of any body shops that are good with fiberglass? I was thinking of cleaning up the roll pan cut outs myself but if I can find the right shop I'd rather have them do it haha

I agree I think I'll use the chomre ones in the summer, and the silver ones in the winter. Although I just put the silver ones on temporaily until I can go have them switched. As far as the C10 goes yes I did do all the work myself I built the entire truck out of a stripped cab and frame. It was quite the project, I just installed the new cam and such as well. :)

Hey haul@ss,

I did the front already it looks better, but I need to get the shackles. Yeah I read up on it and it looks easy. Do you know anywhere in town that sells em? I saw that muffler city was a dealer for bell tech.

Can anyone meet friday nights? i work weekend nights, haha. I think besides lowering my truck, modding is done til I get a new car.

Yep. I did buy this truck with the sts kit on it. I bought it from the 2nd owner. It was originally a guy on here that went by Rumpy. He sold the truck to a State trooper up here and I bought the truc from him. It had quite a few problems when I got my hands on it. I have changed just about everything dealing with the motor and the turbo. So hopefully that will get me on my way. I think the guys name was travis that had the truck originally.

Well hopefully when I get done with this thing this summer I will at least be in the mid to low 12's with this thing. Can't wait! Then maybe I can hold my own down in the big city, lol

I did see a craigs list posting (a member on pt.net told me about) for a 05' CC silverado with a front mount turbo kit for sale. Any of you guys know that truck? :wtf:

I've had a noise coming from the front end since halfway through winter. Its different than the normal 4 wheel drive noise; it would start making noise everytime I would engage the 4 wheel drive. I had a drive line specialist listen to it and he said that it was a bearing going out in the front end. Estimated cost is around $900, I'll wait until late summer to get it fixed. I guess the only advantage is that I can get both front axel seals fixed since they are leaking.
