I was on my way home from the gym and what looked to be about a 1990 Camaro IROC Z Z28 came by me. He was kinda hot rodding it. I got lucky and we got stopped at the next red light. He looked over and nodded. The light turned green and we both went for it. Luckily, I didn't spin as much as usual, and we stayed even untill after 4,000 rpm's and I pulled away. I kept pulling and we let off a little after 60 and I had about 2 car lengths on him. He was :fume: I'm not sure how fast those are stock-It WAS a tuned port injected 350-but looked pretty stock. The truck I was driving was my 2003 Arrival Blue Silverado Z71, 5.3, with a cold air kit, cat-back exhaust, 10.4 mm Taylor wires and stock 3.73's. Anybody know how fast those are stock 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile? Thanks :chevy:

well, being a third gen fan that i am, i know a thing or two about the play car. a 90' iroc-z runs an absolute best around 14.4 with a 1LE 5.7 90 camaro. on the other end of the scale, a 5.0 with an A4 and the average driver is a mear high 15's car. they are capable of more, but most can't get everything out of them. with your mods you have around 15.8 truck i'd guess. the one you raced being a standard 5.7 iroc was likely a low 15 second ride with an average driver.

Mines an ext. cab. I had a reg cab but then my wife got pregnant :D

So you're saying it's a high 15? That sux. It seems so much faster based on what I've raced and beaten, but maybe not. I've never been to the track. I beat an SS 4 out of 5 times. From a dead stop, it beat me, but from a 20,25,40, and 60 mph jump, I had him by just a hair. It was extremely close, but a win's a win. :chevy:

:withstupid: They were not available in a 5.7 with a 5 speed . Thats why it was such a big deal when Chevrolet put 5.7 and 6-speeds in the Camaro . Not to say someone might have put a 5.7 in a 305 5speed car . A lot of guys with Monte Carlo S.S.'s took that weak 305 out and put a 350 in its place .Everything bolts up nice ...
