pcv valve replacement

:nono: It's located at the rear of the left-side valve cover. GM made an improved one for the LS7, supposed to keep more oil out of the intake but reports of such are spotty.

Mr. P. :)

Would this be the same for a 2005 5.3 engine??

So I replaced the pcv valve today. And like Quik said, its not really a valve but a restrictor. I replaced it with a Napa # 2-9399 with is the 03 ZO6 pcv valve. And it is actually a valve with a check ball in it. The opening is much bigger than the stock one AC Delco #CV 2001 C.

Honestly, I could tell a difference in how it idled, and how it responded while driving. Maybe, I am crazy, but I could feel a difference. Anyway, someone make a liar out of me and tell me I've lost my mind.'

Here is a picture of both. The shiny one is the new one, you will notice a much bigger opening than the stock one. Pardon the glare.

Which part number is the Z06 valve? The Napa # or the Delco #?
