Huh. Well if that's the case why does mine rattle? Doesn't matter, with the PCV placement it would not matter if it had a valve or not; I hope whoever it was at GM that thought it was a good idea to locate the PCV valve at the back of the valve cover got fired. :idiot:

yours rattled because of the crap that was stuck in it. they are only a restrictor.

So I replaced the pcv valve today. And like Quik said, its not really a valve but a restrictor. I replaced it with a Napa # 2-9399 with is the 03 ZO6 pcv valve. And it is actually a valve with a check ball in it. The opening is much bigger than the stock one AC Delco #CV 2001 C.

Honestly, I could tell a difference in how it idled, and how it responded while driving. Maybe, I am crazy, but I could feel a difference. Anyway, someone make a liar out of me and tell me I've lost my mind.'

Here is a picture of both. The shiny one is the new one, you will notice a much bigger opening than the stock one. Pardon the glare.

hey mr. p, is it different on an 04? pcv hose is a lot thinner than that. and doesnt even have the restrictor or valve in it.

I dunno. Yesterday an old hot rodder saw the new CSR catch can and said "well instead of installing a band-aid why don't you just fix the original problem" so now I'm pondering the whole issue. I'll have to research...
