How to install a LM-1/RPM converter

I have a how-to request. I need a little info on the wire color and location for the RPM signal. Can I pull it off of one of the coils? I saw that you can configure the LM-1 depending on how many pulses per rev. I don't have the enhanced EIO for my HPT (yet) and I wanna get this thing hooked up and logging so I can accurately tune my truck. It kinda sucks that they pretty much did away with serial ports, I have to use a USB adapter. Any info is appreciated...I did check their forum but there's not much info on real cars. Later

ny laptop got lucky and has a serial port, id like to do the rpm converter too because it isnt much use except to monitor without it, but imo i already have hp tuners so i am probably going to stick with that! lmk how it turns out!
