LPEZR1
Gas mileage would not suffer real bad if you didn't go too big on the cam. If you go big on the cam you would need more converter, and both would hurt gas milage. A locking converter would not hurt milage on the highway as much. Stg. II heads $2500 + $400 medium cam with little or no other mods might add 60-80HP ($600 more installed) and keep decent driveability. I think dcairns has the Magnacharger with no more mods and ran a 13.9 and he estimated 400 wheel HP, that is a gain of 125+ HP at the motor for $5000 with almost stock driveability. Also a nice fat torque curve that a H/C package can't match. Just have to decide power vs driveability and $.
j4nash
that seams like a lot of $$$ for only 60-80hp
383ss
you can get good heads for around 1600 that make about the same power as high dollar GTP/MTI types. cam 400, install of both about 800. probably 3k total after everything, for I would guess around 75-90hp increase. Sounds like a reasonable price to me. I see your point with gas mileage though...
