Interesting Day

I just wanted to say thanks to Bryan from PCMFORLESS for coming up today and tuning Mario Andretti's Corvette.

Bryan and I went to his house thinking he was going to tune Mario's 2001 Z06, and when Mario opened the garage door we saw a 2005 Blue Metallic C6!!

Bryan was the lucky one to go out on a test drive after the tune, and almost got to drive it, but passed on the opportunity.

Needless to say, Mario was quite pleased with Bryan's tune, and told us he was able to "Break 'em Loose" where he couldn't before the tune.

Since he is a spokesperson for Magnaflow, it had a full cat back Exhaust and while we were there he called his local speed shop and ordered a set of K&N filters for it.

Another thing I wanted to say is the Mario is a genuinely nice guy and very personable.

He even took me to the other side of his garage to show off his new Murcialago. Opened the doors and engine cover for me to see. What a sight.

We both got to take home some memories and also were each given a bottle of wine from Mario's vinyards in Cali.

If anyone talks to Bryan, ask him how his ride was....He will know what I'm talking about.

By the way, this car will be for sale later this year when Mario picks up his C6 Z06. Bryan is hoping to buy it from him.

I'm going to talk to Mario's Brother in law to see if I can get some pics of Mario with the Vette for Bryan to post in his customers cars section of his web site. I had tha camera with me but didn't want to bother him for pictures, although he offered to endorse either one of our businesses for us!!

Pretty cool of him to offer that!!!!

Wow - that's really nice of him. It's great when you get to meet someone like that with serious creditials, awesome street cred, and they turn out to be real people too.

Talk about a resume.....

Mario Andretti's love for cars began at an

early age in his native Italy when he saw

great Alberto Ascari race at Monza.

Influenced by this legendary driver,

Andretti began his own racing career in

1959 - at the age of 19 - in Nazareth,

Pennsylvania.

The first of Mario's victories came in the

very first race he entered in Nazareth, at

the wheel of a 1948 Hudson Hornet

Sportsman stock car that he, his brother

and some friends had built. Mario's career

flourished as he won 20 races in the

Sportsman Class in his first two seasons.

The last of Mario's record 407 Champ Car

races was October 9, 1994 at Laguna Seca Raceway in California. And at that point he

had won just about everything: The Indy

500, The Daytona 500, The Champ Car

National Championship (four times).

Mario drove with a passion that few have

equated. Mario took the checkered flag 111

times during his career - a career that

spanned five decades. He's been named

Driver of the Year in the 60's, 70's and
