how much can the ss pull (trailer weight)

what can the ss tow (trailer weight) I know in the brochure it says 7800 but my reg cab 5.3 4x4 z71 can tow 9100 with 4.10 gears or 8100 with 3.73's. With the towing package on the ss what is the max trailer weight it can pull. I may be buying one if it can pull enough

The towing package on the SS does not increase the towing capacity, it just adds the hitch and wiring. I had remember the towing capacity being 7500 lbs. What brochure are you looking at?

There sure seems to be confusion and concern on this very issue. I posted the same question a few weeks ago. Even several calls to key contact people I have at Chevrolet left me without real confidence that I had an accurate answer. The best those folks came up with was: 7400 pounds - - and that didn't even include a reason why. My speculation is the sport suspension and tires. I have a 7400 pound trailer - so I'll know soon enough whether it will, or won't. My bet is that it WILL.

Pulling your trailer shouldn't be that big of deal whether close to the rated capacity or not. As long as the hitch is rated to tow that much. Let us know how well it brings all that weight to a halt.
