jchitwo Posted February 19, 2005 Report Share Posted February 19, 2005 The new intake tube for the 05' ss's still have the bends....or spaces made out for a fan...the new 05's don't have a stock fan their electric... LOUI1313 Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 I just installed a CIA and took out that ugly intake tube from my truck. I think they put it there to (1) reduce noise comming from the engine and (2) to act as reserves when the engine pulls air quickly. The second is just a guess and there is no backing behind it. However, after getting the CIA I noticed a lot more noise. I think this is partially because I don't have that weird looking intake tube. So I think it is for noise.
