  1. Hey yall ive been trying to figure out on a kit to purchase for my 04 silverado ss wanting to do a 2/4 drop since its my daily and it snows out here in the winter time its awd and wanted a belltech kit but cant find it anywhere its all 2/2 kits and dont want a djm because i just ordered new upper control arma and joints so having to order new ones will kinda set me back a penny any help ? Thanks in advance 🙏🏿
  2. *1st photo is the 22” rep and the 2nd photo is a factory 20”* I got a set of SS centre caps and they don’t correctly fit because there’s no ridge for the tabs to grab on to, the centre of the rep wheel is carved and bowl shaped. when I push the cap down half pops into place but the other half wants to come out because there’s no where for the tabs to go. I’ve asked on Facebook groups and looked all over the Google, I’m assuming the worst and I’ll probably have to cut the tabs and silicone it to the wheel or something ridiculous.
  3. Hey all, I bought an '03 AWD Silverado SS about a month ago. Only 136,000 miles for $12k and she runs great, or at least did. Trying to figure out if my recent muffler delete is causing the trans to have mushy shifts. It was a home hacksaw job from a buddy of mine just for fun but I've never had issues with muffler deletes in the past. I'm taking it to get a Flowmaster Super 40 or 44 put on next week hoping that solves the issue. Has anyone else ever encountered this? Would lack of back pressure on the LQ9 make a torque difference?
  4. Hmm. Gotta shrink my pics. File sizes are too big.
  5. I haven't been so active on the boards lately. Had some more health and work issues. Also keeping a 2008 Jetstream Blue C6Z06 nice and running. But I still have my 2004 Arrival Blue SSS, which has reached an amazing 215,000 miles with great reliability! In 2014 I replaced hood that had some rust around the latch hoop with a Cowl Induction hood from Street Scene thru Stylin Concepts. Price was good at about $400 shippped, but still cost $700 after painting. Unfortunately, being a double panelled hood for strength the paint could not coat between the panels and at 1.5 years it started rusting from the inside out, due to poor rust resistant coatings. So I decided to go fiberglass. I chose the Keystone Syling Good Hood last fall, but by the time I dealt with my wife's serious illness, Keystone discontinued it, Rats. For functional fiberglass, I am down to RKSport, which looks nowhere near as nice as the GoodHood looked, OR the Amerihood which has a broad narrow 2 section scoop and some smaller air extractor louvers towards the back of the hood. Anyone try either of these hoods, and if so what you thought about their quality and durability? It is still a great driving truck, but needs some paint, so I need to get this going. Thanks, RickR
  6. I am having a problem with the old SS but here's the story first on how I got her, I had been looking for 2 years for the right SS at the right price even out of state but could not find a rust free one until I finally saw one on Craiglists about 1 hour away from me with 32k on the odometer, I just couldn't believe it so I went and saw it, guy was the 2nd owner and had it garaged but rarely drove it, I just couldn't believe it. The only mods he had done to it was: JBA shorty headers, Throttle body spacer, S & B CAI, MSD Wires, and Magnaflows, truck ran immaculate as he said he had serviced it from the basic stuff regularly even tranny fluid change and differential service( I checked the tranny fluid so he wasn't lying). Closed the deal for the truck, have put about 7k miles on her since (39k right now) I got her in March, noticed right away that the truck was a monster when you mashed the throttle, tested it's limits to see and brought it up to 110 a couple of different times. Just out of nowhere though a few weeks back I noticed that something changed and I noticed right away a loss of power from the startup, the exhaust tone even sounded much less loud and toned down, it was easy for me to bring her up to 70 on the freeway but now I noticed that it takes double the effort on the throttle to get her up to that speed.. These engines are strong as can be so I don't think it's a compression problem especially not at that low of mileage, the tranny did have low fluid and I do not know for how long since I owned it had it been like that since I didn't properly check the level, any thoughts?
  7. Hey guys just wanted to gather some input as to how durable are the motors on our trucks.. I find it hard for me not to floor it or get going whenever somebody pulls up next to me on the highway, I raced a ws6 the other day and got beat by half a car i maxed out at 110mph, my basic question is as dumb as it may seem that is it bad to constantly be doing this to the engine? Reaching high speeds, I feel good because i beat someone on occasions but then i feel bad because it's a limited edition truck and i don't usually abuse my engines in my trucks like this... George
  8. Looking to buy just the middle manifold cover, would preferably take one that is in good condition with none of the letters paint peeling off or scratched off, let me know what you have George
  9. Hey guys, i pretty much almost completed getting my SS right, put some limo tints on, installed a better stereo receiver, put a high end viper alarm, repaired the cluster and dropped some LED's in there, i was always curious on getting a custom license plate, idk what i would want it to say though i want something clever, any ideas would be greatly appreciated as well as keeping in mind that 7 characters is the max George

  11. basically I am putting a truck back to stock here at the shop. we need these items- - 4L65E 4WD/AWD (NO need for T-Case) - NBS Tailgate (Prefer Black) - SSS Rear Tailgate Cap (Prefer Black) - SSS Tailgate Cladding Strip (Prefer Black) - SSS Rear Metal Bumper (If you want to sell w/ SSS bumper cover that is fine- prefer black) - TBSS / NNBS Cathedral Port Truck Intake (Prefer fuel rails only; do not need injectors or throttle but would consider for right price) - Stock NBS (Non-Molested) Rear Leaf Hangers (Not shackles- the hangers that are riveted on to the truck and must have rivets cut off) Prefer local on most for obvious reasons, but willing to pay/arrange shipping if your prices are good on the parts. We are located in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Florida area (Broward, Dade, or Palm Beach County we will pick up from) Will consider any and all offers- easier to email me than to PM; [email protected] Thanks, John

  13. Hey guys I need some help on what wheels to get for my truck. The wheels pictured on my truck now came with it when I bought it. Not real crazy about them, I want it to have more of a factory look. Def want to stay with the 22's, but I am torn between the tbss or sss reps. Also even more torn on what finish, chrome, silver, or competition grey. I know this has been discussed on here a lot, but wanted some opinions from the experts who have seen one of these options in person, there are no blue ss's in my area, and I kind of like that. I am leaning towards the silver sss 22 reps, they would match the ss badges and the grey in the front bumper. I do not want black, and my truck is an 03 awd with a 2/2 drop.
  14. Hey guys, In this thread I'll be posting pics & updates of my truck throughout the build process. Right now we are still in the preliminary stages and still deciding exactly what will go into the truck and ordering/collecting parts. For my ace-in-the-hole professional mechanic help I've enlisted the aid of John from Kelley Performance. He has been an amazing help and incredibly kind to spend the amount of time he has talking with me and helping me make a list of necessary parts down to the last bolt and washer. Without a doubt I'd still be spinning my wheels and very far from where I currently am in the build (even though it hasn't even begun! lol) without his help. So, first and foremost, a huge THANK YOU! To John I've decided that the majority of the build will most likely be done on June 1st and/or sooner depending on when everything arrives. Originally it didn't look like I'd have all the necessary parts until then, but I may end up with everything way before then, like, within a week or two! Which was unexpected but not a bad thing. Link to Build Party: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/81193-build-party-dover-de-area/ And now on to the build! So far, the entire build list is: Definites: Radix Mp112 Ls2 Silver Blade 90mm TB Custom Blower Cam OBX Longtube headers + ORY + Fake cats Corsa Sport Exhaust catback Shift Kit + Vette Servo AeroForce Scan Gauge(s) LED Swapped Gauge Cluster via GMGaugeGuys Krambo Tuned when it's all put together! Assorted/Misc Supporting Parts like Dr.X, Gaskes, Oils, etc. Possibilities/Future Additions: E-Fans Hood Wheels Nav Radio Full custom paint job Speedstur Tonneau For a little while I was debating on whether I'd want new ported/polished heads but I've decided against it. If I ever want anything like that maybe I'll just go snag a salvaged LS7 427 and go all out ;) Now for the fun part! First thing I've actually received so far was the TransGo HD2 Shift Kit & Vette Servo But, no proper build can start with a dirty truck, and today was the nicest day we've had so far this year. Hard to believe we just had roughly 6 inches of snow/rain fall just a few days ago. So I pulled my gauge-less truck out of the garage and proceeded to give it a much needed bath. And holy hell is it a battle. My water in my new house SUCKS, I have water spots so deep I'm pretty sure they'll eat through my engine block if I let it sit long enough. I've forgotten what it looks like to see out of a clean window, I don't think it's possible to get the spots off! I've tried everything but Adams products simply because I hate to order something before I've used up the old stuff. So, I'll suffer through the remainder of my Meguiars/ArmorAll and such and next time I'll try out a full set of Adams, that might make the difference. Pre-Wash: Don't tell Brian but I had a can of Plastidip laying around so I decided to dip my bowtie in true ricer fashion ;) Before: After: Not too bad i think Wiped down the engine bay as best as I could, nothing special And here's a pic of some of the crap I've been using to clean the truck And here she is all cleaned up and sparkly. Believe me, it looks much better in the pictures than it does in person. My wheels were already on the way downhill when I bought the truck but the last two winters of steady driving has definitely taken its toll. There's quite a bit of peeling and a lot of pitting. I'm really not sure what to do other than maybe dipping the wheels and using them as my winter beaters. I've been eyeballing some new wheels anyway. And my dog was fascinated with this salamander while I was workin' on the truck And she thought this baby water snake was her new seat, she just walked over and sat right on it. Surprised it didn't bite her ass!! Wasn't fast enough to get a pic of her sitting on it lol Well, that's all for now! I'll post more pics as I get parts and once the break-down begins.
  15. ***Thanks to all for the great response, but we have found and purchased a truck. we buy about one VHO/SSS a month typically so i will keep all who contacted me in mind (except you Aaron !! ) thanks again to Tommy aka ShakesVHO for a great truck!**** like title says- i have a VIP customer looking for a Silvy, and it preferably needs to be either an SSS or VHO (GMC or Chevy are fine). stock SSS, VHO is fine. modded also fine. PLEASE nothing over 100k miles. i dont care where its located but if its in FL, GA, NC, TX that will make the deal much easier. i can work with a regular silverado BUT it has to have the following: ECSB, MIN. 5.3 liter (no V6 no 4.8) prefer LQ9; it needs to be supercharged, turbocharged, or N/A modded w/ bolt-ons (MUST be a good, reliable setup!). also nothing over 100k please! motor swaps fine as long as its with requriements above. I AM READY TO PURCHASE, no foolery here no window shopping. this customer needs a truck ASAP. you can contact me directly at 954-647-8536. texting me is the fastest way to contact as i am always burried you can email pictures or more info to [email protected], or post up on this thread. Thanks ! John Kelley
