I just had a set of VisionX Optimus Duals installed in the front bumper scoops of my 04SS! These lights are awesome build quality and really put out some light for 20 watts each! Turn these on with HID headlamps and driving at night is like driving in daylight! I had my local AutoTrim store do the install for a couple hundred, but you could probably do the installation yourself! See pics below! Awesome! http://s50.photobucket.com/user/cthomp1960/library/

After finishing the dimmer switch and cluster in blue, I figured I could tackle the manual AC controls as well. As soon as I got all the LEDs in, I ran to plug it into the truck and got this. The two bottom on the driver side weren't working and the bottom on the passenger side wasn't either. Thinking maybe I screwed something up on the bottom of the board (Such as pos and negative touching on the led or something stupid), I took it out of its little plastic case still plugged in. The first red square shows the positive and negative, they were a little close so I moved it a hair with my finger and the circuit board started smoking for a sec (Believe I just fried the LED, as it was the led for the passenger temp control and it immediately went out afterwards). After this happened and this LED went out, all of the LEDs on the driver side went out leaving only the two on the passenger side knob to adjust the positioning (blow to feet, face, etc) still on. I then noticed this burnt mark shown in the second square. Here is the front of the circuit board, all of the positives and negatives should be in the right holes and nothing looks damaged as far as I know... Hopefully you guys can help me out and let me know what I can do to fix this, desperate at this point! Been working on this since midnight and its almost 5 AM lol. Thank you very much.

I think its time to tackle the LED swap and I was just wondering where you guys would recommend ordering LEDs for the cluster and the AC controls? I'm not sure if it would matter or not but I'd hate to order some cheap ones and they burn out lmao. Thanks!

Ok so I'm looking into replacing my standard drls with leds, but I'm not really sure which direction to go… I know that the standard replacement bulb recommended is the 3157, but other people say that the 4114 is a better replacement because it is not as sensitive to the voltage fluctuation that GMs put out. I have looked on vled and superbright but neither makes a 4114 in an led, only a 3157. Is 4114 only a standard bulb number? Also, is either one truly any better than the next? I was leaning toward the 6k switchback 3157s on vled, but it does not state that they are ok for drls like it does for the plain white 6k 3157s…I listed the links below. I'm really just looking for some advice before i spend the money only to have them burn out right away, so if you have any input I'd be glad to hear it! -White 3157 LED http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/reverse-back-up/3156-3157-led/6k-white-3157-21-led-parking-backup-light-bulbs-4057-1-pair.html -Switchback 3157 LED http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/tail-brake-turn-signal/3157-3157ck-3156-led/switchback-led/6k-type-2-dual-color-changing-white-amber-switchback-42-high-power-led-turn-signal-bulbs-3157-ck-type-base-1-pair.html

I bought a set of Switchback bulbs (3157) from ddmtuning the first time I ordered my HIDs and they have always been an issue. The HID's work great for the most part but as far as the actual switchback bulbs go they were a problem since the beginning. First off they didn't want to fit in the socket, so after an hour or so of filing and sanding I finally was able to make them fit. The resistors that came with them were 25w 25ohm, which didn't fix hyperflashing. I went to O'rileys and bought some 10w by 25ohms (only ones they had there) which fixed the hyperflashing issue but then after driving for a few minutes I realized they turned off. The only way to get them back on was to turn them back on with the headlight knob, which is stupid to do every few minutes. I talked to another user on this website and he said to order 50w 6 ohms from ddm and the problem should be fixed, after waiting weeks for the resistors to get in it still didn't fix the problems and I'm starting to think this is hopeless lol. Does anyone know how to fix this issue or of some switchbacks that actually work right on our trucks? I would really like to fix the current ones since I've sunk around $40 bucks into it by now, but if I really do gotta use a different brand I guess I could.. Thanks!
