  1. If everybody starts naming their favorite beers, this could be an epic thread!
  2. Put me down for a few Yuenglings!
  3. On these extended cab trucks, the noise mainly occurs on the passenger side window in the rear door. As I recall from prior reading, it was a poor design, made worse by a bad assembly process. I bought a set of these latches. It helped a bit on my truck. On some, it eliminates the noise all together. For the price (not too bad, right?), give it a try if you have the issue. It might fix it.
  4. I'll have to make a few more posts and get onto page one!
  5. I have a good reason for not being there, at least. I will be attending a family reunion where we'll be celebrating my "aunt's" (really a cousin) 90th birthday. I haven't seen them all for a few years, so it will be really nice. Jackie will be meeting them for the first time. They are a great bunch too, like all of you!
  6. Good luck with it, Shaun. I had a '97 GTP 2-door, and loved it. It was black, and as in the SS world, black was the fastest.
  7. Post a link to the Craigslist ad in the For Sale section of the Forum with a few pertinent facts. Might help. Good luck!
  8. I'm afraid I show my age when I say that I went to Ebbets Field to root for the Brooklyn Dodgers when I was a little kid. When they left, I became a Yankees fan like my dad. I root for all of the same teams as MuggSS, but not so much on basketball.
  9. I used the Parada Spec-X tires as my all weather tires, in the stock size. Very good tire. I used General Grabber UHP tires in the summer, 305/50-20. Loved them. I replaced the Goodyears early because I didn't like them.
  10. Just looked it up, because 933 sounded familiar... according to what I found... "Of the 1,333 scheduled trucks, only 933 were made." If it's legit, 25K could be a bargain, with only 20,000 miles (if it's not been beat on). Edit: If he's the original owner, he should have the certificate that came with those trucks. Here is the full text of what I found: "In 2006, Chevrolet released a special edition Silverado SS under the name "Intimidator SS" (licensed by Dale Earnhardt Inc.) to honor the late Dale Earnhardt. The truck came with several minor appearance upgrades (rear spoiler, embroidered headrests, intimidator custom badging ), a lowered ride height, performance suspension, two-stage multi-leaf springs, Tenneco shock absorbers, a stiffer front stabilizer bar and harder front jounce bumpers. This is a Collectors Edition truck. Of the 1,333 scheduled trucks, only 933 were made. These trucks were only available in Black Onyx exterior but could be ordered with cloth or leather interior."
  11. If the weather cooperates, I will be driving the Corvette.
  12. Yes, the ones in the signature block are the BBS wheels. I sold them to another member here. I also had a set of American Racing Torq-Thrust II, but they were 8.5 inch width.
  13. I ran a 9.5 inch wide wheel with 305/50-20 tires on my 2003 AWD SS, and had no issues, other than they looked great! The wheels were BBS RD-T; the specs (from TireRack.com) were as follows: Offset: 20mm Backspacing: 6.10" Bolt Pattern: 6-139 Rec. Tire Size:275/55-20 (I had 305/50-20) Weight: 39.5lbs.
  14. Nice times, Tony. I have the 3.42 rear in mine, but I haven't tracked it yet. Mine also has the launch control, if you choose to use it. I'm curious how that would affect times. I've heard that a competent driver is faster without it. Edit: Also, since I have a 6-speed manual Grand Sport, the gearing in the trans is a bit lower in 1st and 2nd than the base manual, giving a bit more off the line.
  15. A little late saying thank you... so Thank You!
  16. I like it quite a bit. Need to check it out in person when it comes to the showroom.
  17. I'm in the camp of leaving the badges on. It's not like the SS has a lot of chrome and crap on it, even the badges are rather subtle.
  18. When I sold the SS, I got a 2011 Sierra Denali (1500). Mine is AWD, I have never seen a 2WD model on a dealer lot (not to say they don't exist, though). The 6.2 with the 6-speed automatic is awesome. Stock, it's faster than my SS with a tune and minor bolt-ons. The only thing I have done to it so far is to put on a Corsa exhaust. Stock was just too quiet. It is a great truck. That all said, and you can ask just about anyone who has sold theirs, there was something about the SS that was unique. They catch your eye, they're not common. Something special. I like the Denali; I loved the SS.
  19. Oh yeah, Mark. You do much better without it! :jester:
  20. That's great news... congratulations! One additional note: I always wanted a garage like that. I'm jealous.
