  3. WARNING #2 If you guys can't control yourselves, this thread will be locked like countless others, and yes I will hand out warnings and vacations from this site if need be. Enough is enough! If you guys can't get over your egos, don't talk to each other, if you don't have something nice to say or have valid information to give, don't say anything at all. I love how everyone complains about the site and how it has changed, and that senior members keep leaving. Don't you guys get it? It's crap like this and numerous threads that go down the toilet in this fashion that are the cause....but no, you all blame us moderators who have to police this stuff and keep after a bunch of children who can't play nice in the sand box. Egos and attitudes like illustrated in this thread are what is ruining this site, PERIOD. If the OP never comes back, I won't be surprised after all this. If you guys can't control yourselves or have a problem with each other, take it up via PM and keep it off these boards. Next person to step out of line will face disciplinary action....
  4. Guys let's get back on track with this topic and stop the bickering.
  5. Guys, please curb the profanity as I have removed it from this thread. I understand the OP's frustration, let's keep the swearing to a minimum...
  6. I have never gone by the OLM in any of the 5 GM vehicles I have owned. I don't need a computer to tell me when to change my oil. My Tahoe gets an oil change every 4k with full synthetic, the SS every 6 months since she sits most of the time. The longer you go between oil change intervals, the more the oil will break down, leaving a greater chance of sludge buildup in your motor. It doesn't matter if it is conventional or synthetic oil, it's just the nature of the beast.
  7. 1-7/8" is overkill unless you are going FI, are spraying, or have bigger cubes. 1-3/4" should be plenty for your goals....
  8. *Topic moved to correct section* Before choosing a TC, you need to think about your future goals. If you don't plan on forced induction or engine internals, a 3000-3200 stall is a good match that will really wake up an SS with a stock motor. If you do plan on serious power mods, you may want a higher stall. Also, stay away from the TT series Yank converters as they do not have a good track record with these trucks.
  9. +1, many here have them including myself, go for it

  11. Since you have replaced the purge valve, vent solenoid valve, and gas cap, it's time for a qualified shop to do a smoke test to find the true source of the leak. P0455 is a mass EVAP leak, don't throw any more parts at it....
  12. I have one if you are interested, Long Island NY.
  13. Everybody cool it! Enough with the personal attacks and get back on track of this topic! The only "L" around here is gonna stand for if you guys can't play nice in the sand box!
  14. They may be pretty, but you won't see them under the valve covers. You can put that money to better use elsewhere....
  15. Replace your thermostat while you are at it, make sure to check your belt tensioners for bearing wear too....
  16. Cheri and I had fun as usual. I wish we could have went go carting with you guys, but it's a good thing we didnt, I found out from my doctor yesterday that I have a bulging disk in my lower back causing this pain. 6 weeks of physical therapy, a few prescription drugs, and 2 months of medical leave from the FD for me.
  17. If you have washing supplies with you, they have an area along the main entrance where hoses are provided so you can wash your ride. If you do not have supplies, you can pick some up at the fair grounds or at one of the area auto part stores. There are also a few automatic car washes and a do it yourself car wash in town....
  18. Whoever used the R word and jinxed us, it's been pouring here all morning.
