I drive a dodge and I would agree that dodge owners do the most hideous things to trucks. I see this one 06 ram on the way to work every day and he replaced both bumpers with complete chrome ones, chrome grill, 17 or 18 inch chrome rims (looks ****en retarded) ricer style tail lights and head lights, chrome running boards, chrome wheel well trim and I think that is it but it's disgusting and it makes me want to throw up. I have seen it undergo this transformation from a nice stock truck and it is nasty now.

Yeah my friends has a badge on the dash that says 793/800 so I'm pretty sure they are mainly gone.

lol it's all good, just wanted to make sure you had the right info and you are correct, the wrx DID come with the 2.0 while the sti came with the 2.5 a few years back.

For your information the new WRX comes with the 2.5 liter. The differences are the sti has a 6 speed tranny, stronger block, better suspension and a few more bells and whistles. For the OP, you can get an STI with leather seats and all that, it's called the limited I think. My friend has an 07 STI with leather and all that good stuff...there were only 800 made though. I am about to purchase an 07 wrx limited and get rid of the truck as well and they are nice cars. Personally if I could I would get the STI but the wrx is enough for me.

Yeah I post on here a few dodge sites, performancetrucks.net, an svt site and a titan site and everyone is cool and has good info for the most part except most the titan guys. There are a few cool guys around there that know their place but for the most part they think their trucks were a gift from the speed gods. I enjoy talking about cars/trucks no matter what style, brand or make. I love trucks (big, little, slow, fast, slammed, muddy) some ricers (evo's, sti's, wrx's, supras, rx7's, srt4's and anything that someone dumped some $$$ into and made fast) Any muscle car whether it be new or old from old school hemi packed mopars to chevys and all the way up to current stuff. I just like motors and I love things that go fast or get dirty so I can respect any vehicle for what it brings to the table.

It's the same with the hemi. Some guys trucks will go faster than 106 stock but MOST of us can only get to 106. It sucks because there is much more in her but I can't go any higher and I never totally opened her up with the superchips. I'm sure I could get 130 with superchips in there but I guess I will never know.

Yeah I think the one I played with on the freeway was probably AWD but the guy I know that has a volant CAI, corsa muffler and tips, tune and pacesetter long tubes has an 06 so his is only 2wd. Still a sweet truck none the less. I wish I could run into this guy at a deserted stoplight sometime.

What about the temperatures? How cool was it in the fall when you ran your 14.9? How warm is it now for your 15.3 pass? Cooler temperatures are better so that may be your issue, but I don't know for that much. Hmm.

Well I am trying to get dodge to buy my truck back due to a steering vibration they cannot fix and my truck is under warranty. If they buy it back I will be buying a WRX but if they don't I think I will be trading it in on a used newish body style chevy and either do an lq9 swap or an ls1 swap. I love the dodge but I have had a few issues with this truck and my other dodges I have owned so I am over them. I want a wrx because I sold my dirtbike so I don't need a truck anymore but if I ever do buy a truck again if I get a wrx it will be a duramax. Also, I know he was not tuned as he would have walked me if he was I would say.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'll bet MOST hemi guys would have just said some lie like they were gaining on him or something like that. I think alot of people regardless of make just liek to lie online when they know it is very hard to get called out. I forgot to mention, I know a guy that lives pretty near me and his SS just has longtubes, volant, tune and a corsa muffler and tips and his SS spanks my truck. I have never run him but just by comparing times. His truck is 3-4 tenths faster than mine. I know the guy is probably telling his friends he beat me because he was in front of me and I would admit if I lost but we were totally dead even. When does the SSS speed limiter kick in? Maybe someone that knows could chime in. I'm sure it is higher than the 106 my dodge does but I was just wondering.

Well on my way to work today I was in the fast lane traveling somewhere between 75 and 80 and I see I'm coming up on a black SS that is traveling probably 70 in the middle lane. My windows were down when I passed and I was just admiring his beautiful truck (even though I drive a hemi I still love the SS) well we made eye contact and he was in his early to mid 20's I would say so I figured he would want to play. I got over into the middle lane and he passed me in the fast lane then I sped up and got behind him to get around some slower traffic (not driving too fast just about 75 so it was not dangerous for those around us) well I tail him for a little bit and traffic opens up and there is seriously NO ONE on the freeway in front of us. I can see he starts pulling away so I punch it and I am not gaining on him and he is not shaking me so I knew he was floored as well. No one won or lost as he was already in front when he punched it and I hung at his rear end up until my speed limiter at 106 then I let off because I knew I would just get screwed trying to hang if all your speed limiters is higher than 106. I let off and got back down to 70-75 and he slowed a little bit then I exitted at my exit for work and he kept going. It was alot of fun because we seemed very even since no one pulled anyone in this little traffic fiasco. I would really like to run him sometime at the strip just to se ehow close we actually are. My mods are exhaust dumped before the axle and CAI. He had exhaust but that is all I know since I couldn't talk to him. I assume he probably had CAI as well because I have pulled some stock SS's before and this guy and I were perfectly even. Just wanted to share since I had some fun with one of your sweet rides

Yeah daytonas only came in go mango and that silver color. Doesn't matter though, there is no difference in performance between the rumblebees and the regular hemi rams.

Was he quad cab or regular cab? That makes a huge difference. Quad cab = slow, regular cab = not AS slow. Lol when it comes down to it I think any 15 second vehicle is slow but nice kill. It is funny to see some of these guys get beat because they think the hemi rules the road like it did in the 60's.

Here you guys go for regular WRX's. They are good for low 14's if the driver has owned the car for more than a week lol. http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=157230 I don't like throwing up factory quoted numbers but they are rated at 14.2 bone stock. My truck is actually going back to Dodge hopefully for a warranty issue that can not be fixed and I will be picking up an 07 WRX with the money. Low 14's is fast enough for me right now.

I'm ready to go try that keyless entry thing. I don't think it will work though.

I agree with 2002lstb, I don't think he will reach 11's on all motor but I think low 12's is within reach. Better weather, getting rid of more tq management and learning to launch that beast better will help him alot. I think this is more impressive, his mods are short belt, shitty superchips tune, DR's, long tubes with exhaust dumped there and track intake. I race motocross and run. I have run countless sub 5 minute miles and I have raced motocross for 10 years. I also really enjoy disc golfing, it's a really fun sport to do with some friends.
