are the chassis different? i have the entire donor truck that was simply totaled by insurance because of the $$$ amount of the body damage...

since my 2003 was wrecked a couple years ago, its been sitting at my buddy's shop after we bought it from insurance. Im debating on picking up a 2005 5.3 standard cab/short bed truck this weekend and am curious what would be involved in bolting in the drivetrain from the SS. The shade tree mechanic in me thinks it'll just need a shorter driveshaft but im sure im wrong... any help would be appreciated.

buy the first one, unbolt granny camper, mash gas on the way out of dealer slot... let them clean up the mess... go get the bed and rails rhino lined to cover scratches... you're good to go ;)

i have a 1995 BMW M3 and really miss having my 2003 Silverado SS. Love the M3 and its been maintained to the highest regard but its time to move on. Need a truck to haul around my mustang track car. Right now i have my M3 as a daily driver and a jeep wrangler for daily duties but i figure i can get rid of two cars and replace them with one practical, fun ride. my truck was stock... i figured someone might want wheels/body pieces/interior... it might not be worth having a pile of metal in my backyard on a trailer... we'll see what insurance says... gonna call them in an hour.

Went to dinner tonight and as i ordered an appetizer the waiter comes and asks if i owned a black chevy truck... He proceeded to tell me that someone hit it... i was parked face into the curb so i figured someone backed into it... I walked outside and saw some people around the front of the SS on the curb... as i got closer i saw that a chevy prism had jumped over the curb and landed on my hood pushing the front end in a good two feet! I kept my cool and made sure everyone was ok.. Apparently he was making a left out of the parking lot and the wheel locked so he proceeded over 8 feet of grass and curb into my truck... now i'm thinking... theres no way he was speeding... (yeah right)... Anyway, the police came and got everyones information... they gave me a case number and i had my car towed to my buddy's shop. My friend called me a couple of minutes ago to tell me that the damage is pretty bad and that it'll probably be a total loss. I am in the process of selling my 330Ci so now with this car being totalled i'll have more $$$ to throw at the next vehicle to park in my garage.... i didn't want to sell my truck but spending close to $1000 a month on gas isn't fun. The hunt begins! I"m thinking something sportier than the 330 but with the capacity to haul 4 adults i comfort... M5s come to mind... maybe an Evo.. Maybe say to hell with gas and get a new avalanche? who knows... I'll miss the poor girl... got her about a year ago and had already put 25K miles on her... RIP (any advice if i should let insurance take her away or buy her back and part her out?)

i wouldnt trust my car to hennessy after all the games he's played with vipers in the past... as far as i'm concerned he picks and chooses who he wants to rip off...
