Hey folks. Getting time for some new rubber so I figured I would check back here and see what the current recommendations are. My last two sets of tires have been 420s (on stock wheels) and those are no longer in production. I would like to get something of the same performance level on both wet and dry pavement if possible. I did look at the 420s "successor", the NT420V but the mixed reviews give me pause. Any suggestions?

Howdy folks! Have not posted on here in ages but I need some advice. Now I know train horns have been beaten to death around here, but I am looking for some advice on where to mount some air horns for good sound projection and not have them get swamped in the rain. The arrangement of the LEDs mimics the halogen beam pattern. You will have to mod the plasitc panel behind the headlight a dit for the heatsink to clear

Just wondering if anyone has done the new port scan only tune (well and visual). Supposedly the scan goes deeper and references factory logged settings (settings logged from 06 and up). My next smog is still a ways out and I am curious to see how this may have worked out for anyone with a tune. yeah I know, I worry allot. Cant help it when raised in cali lol.

Negative in this case. The Hella units have a built in module for load equalization. That is not to say the module may not be having issues. I was thinking that on my way into work tonight. I put them on close to a year ago. Didnt figure I would have issues since these are cheapy ebay brand. Ill swap in the stock units this weekend and see what happens.

I'll take a look at the bulb and socket when I get a chance today. Still has me wondering why the signal lights and marker lights are not alternating like they should be. Ugh, I hate electrical lol.

So the other day while making a left turn my left signal starts to flash at irregular intervals for a few seconds and then starts to flash quickly. I did a little trouble shooting, checked the only fuse I could figure just inside the drivers side door, it was good. Then I noticed the front marker lights were not working. So I replaced them figuring it may have caused the issue since they seemed to be burnt out. The signals will work properly for a few seconds then continue with the same issue as before. One thing I also noticed was that the marker lights are not alternating with the turn signals like they should, they are flashing at the same time. Now I'm stumped. The only mods I have to my lighting in that regard is Hella LED tails and they seem to be working fine, though they do speed up with the signals when they act up. Far as I can tell it is only the left side. I dont get the same issue on the right side. Anyone have any thoughts?

lower energy when used in a stock vehicle. however it does have a higher octane rating. in order to make the most of the fuel you would need a have forced induction or run high compression to get the most out of the fuel. Other wise, poor milage will likely cancle out any savings.

Getting ready to order dual areoforce gauges and a full A pillar mount. Since the pillar comes molded in black I want to paint it to match the interior of the truck. I did a quick look on the board and found colorbond GM very dark pewter. The Summit pn is CBD 159, Can anyone confirm the color or give another refrence? I figure I will hit it with that color and then satin clear to protect if from my greasy fingers messing the paint up over time

I forger where I read it, but I rememeber seeing somwhere there there is a data base for 2005+ vehicles they have an OEM supplied database of calibration ID/CVN values (CVN is like a CRC/checksum) and that they will be reading the ID/CVN values from the ECM and comparing these to the database. that is basically what I gathered from reading this over that the camaro forum http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122635&page=2 Granted, I really havnt done much to much truck aside from have the rear O2's deleted from the tune, but if they do have the factory tune on file as refrence its gonna be a PITA. Corsa touring cat back is just what the dr ordered. With long tubes and cats with with sound nice and mello. When you put your foot in it it will wake up nicely.

Mid length headers, cats and corsa sport here. If you want to be drone free it really is hard to beat corsa. Not to mention the quality is awsome and those tips are damn sexy

Just had my first sniffer test done and thought I would ask the guys who know whats what in regards to tunes. How deep will the new testing dig into a trucks PCM under california law AB 2289. I want to know what im in for the next time C.A.R.B. bends me over. Im wordering if it will notice things like rear O2 sencors that are turned off, but at this point would still pass the readiness checks.

1973 and older is exempt from the bi annual inspection. Though they can still pop you at a road side if they want to be jerks.I heard somthing that it was going to be changing starting in 2013 to just a code check for newer cars and trucks. Im not sure though. Maybe somone more in the know in cali can chime in. Would be nice

Well, after 6 years of not having to deal with the california smog test the time finally came. I was nervous if my truck was even going to pass. Granted my mods are minor but still, that damn sniffer test in cali ya never know. So last week I sea foamed the intake, cleaned the MAF and throttle body and air filter just for good measure. The tech had a bit of a hard time with my custome shift points. under lite throttle she wont shift gears until 3k rpm. you guys should have seen the look on his face when she went into second and almost jumped off the rollers. lmao. All was good and was passed, and Im a happy camper. not to sure how to judge the readings on the print out but they look really low. I guess a good tune and proper maint pays off. So todays minor heart attack was avoided.
