  1. So I learned the hard way why you need a good alarm when you live in SoCal. Had some lowlife break out my door handle, rip apart my dash and steal my whole system. It made me realize theres nothing I can do to prevent this if someone really wants to break in, but I know an alarm may at least deter some of those a holes and slow down others. Anybody have some suggestions on the best way to go for an aftermarket alarm? I want something that's got some range if and wouldnt mind some features like remote start
  2. I'll be there today through Friday
  3. Hey all, I recently moved down to orange county in CA from Seattle and I wanted to see if anybody on here already has something organized for us SSS guys or knows about other events and such. If theres nothing happening right now, who in the area is down to help make something happen? I've seen a handful of our trucks out on the road so I know you guys are out there, I'd love to meet some of my fellow SSS owners
  4. So I did start to hear a little bit of clunking last night and earlier today, I did the clunk fix and the steering tightened up a little bit. It still feels like theres some slop in the wheel, but not as much. Also, it didnt fix the clunk. Maybe I didnt stroke it enough? (thats what she said)
  5. Fireman31: The tires are only about 5 months old, still plenty of tred left on them, still in good shape Paintchip: I'm not familiar with the steering shaft trick. You have a link to another thread for it?
  6. Recently my 05 Sss has started getting some play in the steering wheel, doesnt matter if im on the freeway, driving around town or stopped. it also seems like its riding rougher in the front than usual and it drives me insane . My first though is the tie rod ends, which I know how to check if theyre bad (haven't gotten the chance to do it yet), but I don't know what to look for to check all the other parts. At first I thought it might be the notorious steering shaft issue, but I haven't been hearing any clunking (yet) but i guess its still possible thats part of the problem. For reference, I only have about 44k miles on it right now and its awd I'm trying to save some $$$ by avoiding taking it to a shop, so anything you guys have would be appreciated
  7. Stock height, looking to do a drop down the road but not in the near future
  8. So I've had the stock 20's on my truck for awhile now and I think it's time I go bigger. I like the look of 24's but I'm worried about clearance, ride quality, poor breaking/fuel economy, ect. From your guy's experiences do I have anything to worry about with 24's and should just go with 22's or am I over thinking it?
  9. So im putting the finishing touches on one of my projects and realized there are some parts i desperately need to rechrome, but Im not sure of any good chroming shops in the Phoenix area (where the car is). So granted our trucks have no chrome outside of the wheels, maybe some of you guys have been in the same position as me with an older muscle car and know of a good shop. I'm looking for a place that does quality work but wont drain my bank account
  10. That noise drives me crazy. anyone know what exactly it is? Im in for the letter too 2005 AWD SS 6.0 L
