has anyone thought about our trucks and about our future? if we goto hydrogen what will happen to us? its kinda crazy putting so much money in our trucks now then in about 10 years we will have to buy something new and these will be out dated...well 10 years there might not be many ppl with these same trucks still..just a thought...think of the money we could save if we stop now....the thing of it is though...i dont want to stop i want to keep spending money on mine...i just wanted to know everyones input good or bad

i would have to agree...that many times...really...and the funny thing is...depending on the miles...going like 70 in a 60...you dont really gain that much time...its a waste of gas...at least for me...you save a few mins....i just do not see a point in speeding....the funniest thing i was told was when a buddy of mine, which is a cop, pulled a man over for speeding...the man says to my cop friend "why would you pull me over when everyone else is speeding too?" my cop friend said " do you go fishing? if so...do you catch every single fish in the pond?" just my .02....

thanks for the tbtc...it came in yesterday and it was a good birthday present! shipping was great except one thing..the fedex man did not tell me what it was and he carried it one handed to the door and gave it to me and i about dropped it since i did not know what the box contained...i did not expect for it to be that heavy....so silly me....well thanks again...

Well this is my first how to so bare with me. This is a how to saying only how I did it, so if you decide to do it the same way do at your own risk. The required tools are: 10mm socket 19mm wrench Rubber tube cutter Thread tape Two Wrenches Rags 1/2 quart of transmission fluid Misc tools along the way Total time for me: 2 hours with breaks I first started by taking the headlights out, then the grill. The grill is held by clips that you just pull. The next thing that I did was take the factory tranny cooler out, but leaving the hoses hooked. This is connected by the bottom red arrows, they are the plastic things. The top two are 2 10mm bolts. The hose that connects to the factory cooler takes a 19mm wrench. I have vicegrips hold the top piece that way you could get a good turn. They just screw out. After the cooler is out I cut these rubber hoses. The top picture is the hose that you can get to from the engine bay. Just takes a little looking. Cut it as close to the bottom fitting as you can. Next crawl under the truck and find the next hose. This hose is above the skid plate. Cut next to the fitting facing the front of the truck. It takes some moving but you can do it. After these are cut you will lose fluid. I just plugged them. Next I took out the brace as shown. It takes a 10mm socket. Next I mounted the cooler. What I did, something you may choose to do or not to do, was I used the sheet screws that came with it and screwed it to the braces. To get it even took a little while. Also I had to drill the inner two holes out to fit the sheet screws. Once they are in the middle of the brace I screwed it in. And then used the factory holes at the bottom and the aftermarket braces. Next I measured the hose and cut them and then connected them. The amount of hose they give you is enough, but be careful because it is going to be close of you cut one side wrong. And then I am done. I drove around a little then added 1/2 quart of fluid. Also to remount the air temp, I just drilled another hole and stuck it in there. Hope this helps someone. The thing that I like the most is the look of an intercooler. Kyle Eckhoff

ok it runs like 100 now when its cold out...and i did not know if it would hurt to be cooler? or if there is a base level that it needs to be at...like so warm...

would it be bad if i hook the cooler up without the tbtc installed? would the tranny run to cool for it?

just bought me a tbtc for my birthday too!!!!! also i seen a thread on here about having to use synthetic only with this cooler....and sorry to everyone that i have bugged....i know the list is about every member on here.. SSThunder, brobradh77, sick03ssbad70velle, Mr. P., shadowsniper3006, fireman31, oscareltemblo, detjo.... just a few...i bothered them alot and they didnt seem to care so i suggest their help if ever needed

look what came in the mail today...i cant install it i have to wait til my birthday on the 28...a few ?'s....i am installing it but the tq is not in yet...what fluid do i run i dont have the bypass..also for the install i dont think it will be hard...i will have pics after the install...i love the fact that this might look like an intercooler too

ya i got about 250 dollars so i was wanting a tc now....guess i should wait...also the tbtc was 254 plus 100 core charge on the gm parts direct....cant find one anywhere else...and i just found a 3000 tci but then i searched it on here and ppl say its bad...i cant find anything tonight!

ok so dont go with the hughes 2200...if the tbtc lowers et and feels like stock...is there a point? i want to feel it....

i called a transmission guy and i got a 600 dollar price max, for the converter install....sound good? to high? also...what would be better a hughes 2200 stall or a TBTC i called this place and they said that they can stall it higher...he said that he would be able to get it up to like 2500....so what would that be once put on my truck? since the factory stall for a tbtc is lower then put on our truck it rises? also does it require a retune?

o i see how it is going to be now...lol...

where was everyones switch at?

i am thinking the quick time or dmh...and duals...do they all have 2 swtichs? i would like one that controls both

ya here in MO its snowing good...the high school got out yesterday and today...we got about 1-1.5 so far....not to bad
