  1. Honestly I love the SS in red. Would I drive a red Z71 Silvy? No lol. Does that make sense? I dunno who cares that's one clean truck man. I'm loving the decal looks good in red. And props on the hood, that's the hood I'm thinking of throwing on the JGP actually. I've never Been an aftermarket hood guy but I've always liked those. Cool photoshoot spot too I like it trucks really coming along Alex! John
  2. Well thanks a lot for the kind words guys, I really appreciate it I do my best to put my passion into my work. I really love these LSx powered vehicles. I can never learn enough about them. Alex I'm very glad to hear you like your tune, I put some extra time into yours. From reading your posts I know you like to toy Around with other cars on the street hope your custom decals came in undamaged. I'm always here if you have any questions or would like to do other work About the "tow/haul" mode: what it does is totally allow full changes of EVERY parameter of the Trans, which any tuner knows is a HUGE part of a tune. I did make them fairly aggressive but wasnt looking to blow up your Trans just so everyone in this thread knows- with my tunes you can still tow OUT of tow/haul mode no problem, up to the rated capacity. So you actually didn't loose the use of your towing anyways thanks a gain for the kind words I'm glad we could make another happy customer John I
  3. I already was in here lol! I'm making a how to on this and maybe it'll get sticky'd if my lucky... For some reason some mods don't like me... Weird I gave my opinion- run two of those PCV style cc.com ones... If you wAnna run a breather that's fine. There are several reasons why I don't recommend it. But there's so much opinion on this subject I don't have the time to reply every time lol
  4. Wait, you guys don't use Jet PCM modules anymore? No wonder I keep fragging PCMs!!!
  5. That's not a bad deal GL one of the best mods you can do on these trucks lol. OEM brakes are an epic fail
  6. No vented one get the PVC style one. Your going to need two tho, the radix is known to pull oil in on BOTH sides of the motor sadly. Also you'll want to put a check valve or PCV valve in line on drivers side. You can order the PCV valve for any 01 truck or Vette or whatever from GM. An inane check valve you can find online in 3/8" everywhere will work too.
  7. And Brandon move your ass down here already
  8. Yeah man that was fun. Was kinda short but That's not our fault.... Damn Halliday time so I got a few vids of Andrew and Jason racing in the Vmax and SS but I'm chillin in the hospital right now on my iPhone so no buena on the videos at the moment lol. All I know is we need a rematch on the 1/4 so I can keep the shops dignity (cough cough... No one in particular )
  9. Look I don't get why every time somebody posts a picture on here that isn't a "commonly liked" mod, everyone has to post their totally non-constructive, negative opinions. It's HIS truck. I don't think he went through the trouble of taking a pic, uploading it, posting it in a thread... To have most people tell him ONLY how they don't like it. If you want to post your opinion, there's a proper way to do it... Taylor aka 907blownss expressed his opinion but was also constructive and expressed that its just that, an opinion/his taste or "IMO". Then he gave a suggestion that was NOT negative. Simple way to express the same thing without being offensive/negative and adding NO substance to the thread... I'm getting tired of this constant putting down honestly it's getting old. Anyone ever said, "if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything???" That needs to be applied on here big time... Ok rant off... John
  10. I have pulled throttles off LS motors with under 200 miles on them, with the throttle plate coated with oil. And that's an NA motor! so really to me and in theory it is stil the same issue no matter how much you drive it... It's not about just "pooling" or "build up". You can blow out gaskets, cause excessive piston to wall clearance, blow out rings, etc with improper crankcase ventilation. For how much your truck and the mods cost, why not spend the $200 to make sure it's running correctly and healthy? John
  11. Well I guess I still don't deserve an answer from you huh... I figured if you did not want to post it on here you'd PM me, but no. Ignored me completely, again. Is this really how your going to treat a 7 year contributing member who is a vendor now? I'm being treated like a problem who will just go away if we all ignore it... I really would not have expected this from you Dan. Turns out I was right after all, so I REALLY don't appreciate it. Thank you RockHead for taking the time to be a moderator and PM me a thorough, professional, polite answer to my questions. For anyone who cares, the rules DO NOT apply to the MEMBER not being able to run again, the TRUCK can only win once. THIS was my SIMPLE question since the members were referring to my JOE GIBBS truck and it was my SSS that had won. I DID create a garage for it so it could've been nominated before the deadline, but due to no one answering (properly until yesterday, thank you again RockHead) it fell through the cracks. It's not this that bothers me, it's how you handled it Dan. People are busy things happen, but this is totally different. For what it's worth here is the correct answer I got: "Sorry I could answer your question till now. Yes, if you have more then one truck it could run for the totm. Make a garage for your Joe Gibbs . I will write up in rules to clear for everyone. But it can not be the Same truck with a new setup" Sorry to put this in the TOTM thread, I've just never been this mistreated on these forums before and am NOT happy about it. This is my last post here and I apologize to everyone else for this "rant" but I felt it necessary. Those of you who know me know this is not my character and I don't do this normally. Good luck to those three guys in the running, I cast my vote like said above John
  12. i dont recall trying to nominate myself i hope that was a general statement and not directed at me... i know you guys have lives as most of us do, but it was 2 days (i think... i know it was well over 24 hours) and was a thread that had a deadline when it would be "closed", so i figured worst case it would be answered at least when one of you closed it but no. anyways, the question was asked because i did NOT see anything in the rules about this specific thing which applied to this situation my SSS won truck of the month years ago... whoever nominated me said they wanted to nominate the Joe Gibbs truck but couldnt because i hadnt made a garage yet. so if you dont mind, i still dont know the answer- i understand the same truck cant win again; but what if my Joe Gibbs truck was nominated? there wasnt anything i saw in the rules about that. does it fall under no member can win more than once or no vehicle can win more than once?
  13. no one ever answered my questions on the election thread... it was totally ignored by mods for days. if thats the case, whats the point of electing or voting in the first place? several posts made BEFORE the dealine were ignored im not one to complain or say anything normally but it kinda sucks to see whats happening to the site lately that being said, i have no idea how we came to what we came to here but lets do it! vote cast lol

John
  15. yes sir you can use any liquid in it basically. meth is a popular use for the tank as well tank is plastic and light, also not huge. shipping shouldnt be too bad not a problem, will post paypal info in next post. you can pay tomorrow, order will begin manufactor tomorrow! also got an intake with your name on it sounds good payment will be ready to be sent tomorrow via paypal yes and no. youd run 5/8" heater hoses from the exsisting pump/tank (depends on if you want to run the maggie tank as well- more fluid the better!) to the new tank, secure with zip ties as you go. i can include the heater hose and hose clamps, fittings with the tanks for a tad extra if needed will also post plenty of install pics of everything when i throw the next one in a truck! i am getting the order together now, will be ready to take payments tomorrow or wednesday at latest. lines can be included if needed for extra. all it is are some 5/8" heater hose and some worm gear hose clamps. you just route along the engine bay and zip tie to secure hoses out of the way. slide onto tank fittings (included) and tighten hose clamp. the tank is plastic, which we use for heat soak reasons. also looks more OEM Group Buy is for plastic tanks it is plastic. we have aluminum ones we used to custom make, but due to engine bay heat, the plastic tanks work MUCH better and also look OEM. if you really want an aluminum tank we can make one for you though.
  16. andrew those are the ones that match your gauges. they use the 194 bulb so you can put whatever LED you want in it. and its the lower boost # gauge like you were talking about
  17. yeah i guess it is... when its not in the same sentance or picture as yours and its easier to make more power than design a beautiful paint scheme and body modifications
  18. you can use a 2.0 as well for the throttle we were gunna run John
  19. actually the contrary... get a smaller blower and spin the piss out of it lol. thatll get you that sound 1. get a fiberglass hood and remove hood insulation blanket 2. use the shortest, largest, most free flowing intake tube with the largest most open media filter 3. run as much boost as you can, smallest upper blower pulley and largest crank pulley. more blower RPM = more noise/whine 4. run an exhaust such as stock exhaust manifolds (no headers), high flow cats, and a corsa sport exhaust do those things you will be as close to that as possible... and have the loudest blower possible for your setup/situation
  20. what was said above- fluid is only going to make a change in feel if your swapping old watery/bad fluid for fresh fluid... other than that its just boiling point. you can use whatever you want as long as its not silicone based... for calipers, you can either buy a used set (plenty around from people who do BBK's) or you can get a set from a GM dealer, NAPA, etc reman calipers. you do need brackets like said. for pad material- ceramic is less dust, less noise but also less "bite". semi metallic will "bite" much harder but can make some slight noise when cold and will make more dust. the best pad IMO and what we use on almost every car we do is Hawk HPS, which is the semi metallic Hawks. they are quiet, dont have any more dust than stock pads, and will bite much harder than ceramic or stock. those are what id use. if not, Powerstop makes ceramic and semi metallic performance pads that are really affordable, you can get them online or at some parts stores. for rotors- if you have the funds for it, i would definately get a +1 replacement rotor from SSBC, Powerslot, Baer, etc.... the benefit is a larger rotor which will disapate heat better, look better, have less brake fade- also they come WITH a bracket. so you wont need to buy a caliper bracket if you buy new/reman calipers... so up front you have a 14" drilled and/or slotted rotor, ceramic/semi metallic HP pads, 06 calipers. combine this with SS brake lines and you will be much happier with the trucks brakes. the pedal feel will be much better, fade will be almost non exsistant as well. for the rear, all youll need is matching pads and replacement rotors to match the front. you can also go +1 rotors in the back, but the rear brakes only do maybe 15-20% of your braking so its not going to do much in braking abilities. a replacement drilled and/or slotted stock size rotor will do fine.
  21. ok so its like an hour till the nominations are supposed to end and no answer yet lol... so i just made garages for both trucks, shouldve done it awhile ago anyways. it really is sad how few people participate in this now i remember back when we first started TOTM, it was crazy the action and stuff going on. anyways, heres my nomination then http://www.SilveradoSS.com/forums/garage/vehicle/662-chevrolet-silverado-vortec-max/
  22. this is a group buy for an upcoming order to Trick Performance (the ones who do the front mount turbo kits). these are composite tanks that mount in the aux battery location, under your passenger fender brace (where fender meets firewall basically). this tank holds 1.5 gallons! the stock Radix tank doesnt even hold a single quart... and for those of you who know about heat disappation, the capacity of your intercooling system is CRITICAL. this tank will GREATLY help your "heat soak" issues common with the Radix/Magnacharger blowers, and will keep more consistant IATs not just at the track but every day. it also has the provisions to be used as an ice box for the track, to keep your water in your intercooler ice cold- literally! if you have a Radix, or even a Vortech supercharger this kit is a MUST. they normally sell for $150 from Trick, but through our group buy we are selling them for $125 shipped. we need 5 orders to proceed with this group buy. here are some pictures and a link to Trick's site about tank- feel free to PM me or text me if you have any questions. lets get these ordered so we can get our IATs down!! heres what the typical Radix tank looks like in size comparision the tank in the truck and here is a link to the product page John
  23. yeah this is in a race for one of the most uneventful threads ever.... but fairly funny! btw KC i wasnt trying to say you were "fighting", i know your right every step of the way (IMO, since, i dunno im a tuner and master mechanic... and own both trucks as well lol) i was just making a joke cause its funny. the mods are normally like "hey now you all need to play nice, i have no opinion either way how this goes. okay that being said continue debating pointlessly but politely! thaaaaaaaaanks" but you were like ok listen here, this is bullshit and that is bullshit. end of story. thank you come again. and your wife was almost even more clever than you
  24. my nominations lazy ass needs to get his garage up in the next few hours so i can nominate him.... btw no word on if i can be nominated BUT with a different truck???
