  1. lol i just saw the other 3 pages of this thread... yeah man i actually live in ft. lauderdale and my shop is like 15 mins south of ft laudedale, between miami and ft lauderdale. you shoulda said something!! haha was that Syd's place of employment? i didnt realize you were on the forums while we were at dinner lol, but then again you always are yeah that intake is much better for an NA build especially, than the stock truck intake. and come back on down theres plenty of LSx's and booobs for everyone
  2. .... make sure you post back in here when you decide not to sell it
  3. you got a bad door switch, very common on the GMT800 trucks like ours. its inside the door, attachted to the door latch. it comes as a complete asseembly from GM. that is what youll need to replcae John
  4. your welcome to email me your tune and log files, and ill take it look at it for you when i get a chance. what spark plugs are you running, and what octane fuel? does it have the 4 deg of KR every time you go WOT at the very same RPM? also, did you change any of the factory knock sensor and sensitivity settings or all they all stock? lastly, whats the full spec on your cam? i know its a few questions but its hard to help with a tune via online conversation John
  5. i thought we talked about this.... i am not sure yet, but there might be 1. we will see once they come in i have installed some of their turbo parts before, yes. from what i have seen, the fit and finish was pretty nice. they have some nice log turbo manifolds and such. i usually like to make my own "kit" but would use some of their parts if i was building a front mount system on a GM truck John
  6. yeah what he said^^^ for example, stoich A/F ratio on gasoline is 14.7:1 (parts air to parts fuel). the lower the number, the richer/more fuel used. stoich A/F ratio on E85 is about 8.5:1 roughly. so thats a considerably higher amount of fuel. benefits of it though, is its technically a much higher octane rating and many boosted setups will run better on E85. however, your fuel system will need to be much much more powerful than if you ran gasoline. also, in a lightly modded or NA setup, IMO there really is no benefit to running E85... sure it might be a tad cheaper but you use so much more of it that if you really tried both methods and did the math, itd prob be the same cost if not more depending on how you drive. John
  7. as long as it was all put together right and the shift kit isnt set up too violently, it should last you a good while... if your right about tom, you shouldnt have any issues now IMO for you and what you want to do with the truck, id use the 1-2 years that trans will hold fine until you burn up the clutches to save for a 4L80e swap next time my 70e goes im just throwing a 85e into it, im gunna have it sitting here ready to go in. just waiting to pick a used one up really cheap and then just accumulate parts and build it. since you want to DD and race it, and go even higher in HP it might not be a bad idea for the future lol
  8. we have bought a bulk order and sold them off before, and if you guys cant get a group buy organized but a few of you want one for sure, maybe ill make another order x1000 x100,000 every truck will require a slightly different fitment, there is not and will not be any roll pan for an SSS that just "fits" up 100% perfectly to them...each truck will vary slightly from many factors. not to mention the caldding is plastic and double sided taped on the top and edge, and many have been repaired/painted. so they are all in different positions, etc etc. all comes down to how and who puts it on to have it done right or not
  9. hey guys, im really sorry about my lack of communication. i have been pretty sick lately amongst other things, like a power strike taking down my entire network of ALL my computers AND my modem with my only broadband connection SO just got that fixed and here we are! i thought i mentioned it before but my memory isnt great- if im not on the site in a few days, feel free to text or call my cell phone that is in my signature. that is a much easier way to get ahold of me. just make sure if you call instead of texting, leave a voicemail so i can get back to you. now onto the tanks- they are on their way to me, shipped out today according to Trick. so we should be seeing them this week, and then i will package them all up to you all, along with install kits for those who got them and your KP decals. i will provide you all with your individual tracking info as soon as i have them. thank you very much for your patience in this matter, as the manufacturing took much longer than had been expected and indicated, as well as my lack of communiation. if you have any questions just post them in here, text me, or PM me. John
  10. good news! the caps are at the manufacturer now and the process has begun. we should be recieving the tanks this week to repackage with install kits and ship to their final destinations this shortage was unexpected by not just me but also the manufacturer so thank you all for your patience, its much appreciated. also, Rick from Trick said someone from the group buy had contacted him with a question. he would like me to let you all know that if you have any questions please direct them to us, as we are the dealer and the group buy is from Kelley Performance. he is a very busy guy and would appreciate it. if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. if you PM me and its taking too long, please call or text me (number in sig) as i dont always get on here as much as id like to. we have been very crazy around here lately and i apologize for my slight drop in communication with you all. this is why i ask you to text me if you have any questions or comments, as i usually always have my work cell on me at all times thanks again for your patience in the cap problem, we apprecaite it :cool BTW- each order comes with a free Kelley Performance decal, like this one below. if youd like a certain size or color, please let me know. if not, you will receive a 12" in either silver or white (pictured below). John
  11. oh ok good lol. that could've been fairly bad lol
  12. hands down use that cam. its an AWESOME blower cam! if it wasn't why would GM put it in one of the fastest production cars in the world. think about that... the money and research that goes into it. I have an LS9 cam going in my LM7 JGP truck soon. they even make great power in NA 6.0 and 6.2s. we have seen 30-35 WHP with JUST the cam swap on a 6.2 bolt ons only other mods NA.
  13. im really thinking its the tune... your welcome to email me your tune if you have access to a tuning program or take a screen shot inside the tune of the fan box.
  14. the box will actually fit, the problem lies with the intake tube. youd have to use an 09-up MAF from a new truck to make it work. its a credit card style MAF not a housing like our stockers. I actually have a Volant for a 09-12 Silverado in my JGP truck simply cause it was laying around lol. made my own air tube, doesn't fit like a glove (the box) but its within 10% id say. no one ever even notices its not for that truck it looks right at home
  15. yeah but did the same tuner do both your trucks....? and no, if one fan is already running and the second fan kicks on that's ok. they are like HIDs... they draw much more power to fire up than while running, hence why they cant be starting together.
  16. looks familiar.... lol I know a shop who makes those!! they are a huge gain in certain areas and work exceptionally well on "draw though" blowers like roots and twin screws. but from what I read, you installed it and are driving around without changing the MAF parameters yet...???? that's a big no no! the frequencies are WAY different and the trucks AFR will be WAY off. if you must drive it stay below 40-50% throttle until tune John
  17. thanks man oh I bet you will! fight for my honor dammit!!!!! fair enough.... well goodbye fellow non boosted slow truck owners!!!! hahahahhaha!!
  18. your asking for trouble... those fans DO NOT take 40 amps to turn on. if I had to bet, its one of two things: 1. whoever tuned the truck has NOT enabled the delay feature. what is that? what it does is, spaces apart when the high and low fans kick on, as not to draw both fans at the exact same time. if this is NOT done with an aftermarket harness (or stock let alone just fused better) It WILL overheat the circuit. placing larger fuses is asking for a fire.... a 30 amp should NEVER blow with stock e-fans... have your tune reexamined and check out the fan data. your welcome to send me a screen shot and I will tell you if its right or not. if you have no access to tuning software, just start the truck up cold, stand by the frnt hood open and see if both fans kick on at exactly the same time. 2. you could have a short to ground, this will cause the same symptoms. look over the wiring harness and check your ground realy well.
  19. Maybe that's just cause your too afraid to speak up big guy
  20. Of course bro you can set up camp wherever we got 3 acres I'm sure you can build you and Justin a nest
