  1. well now i have an agressive bouncing when spinning the tires. the whole axle jumps up and down really badly. my one guess is an offround tire, but they all roadforced under 25lbs...... any ideas?
  2. ok so i checked the shackle bolt tightness, and the hangers. i hung on the truck and traveled the suspension. the leaf was moving freely...... they are just stiff. all is well now, i guess im getting used to it lol
  3. i think you should order some of these parts.... the pump wedge, intake grate, and sponsons made a WORLD of difference. simple install. now my 900 lb ski actually jumps as high as the 300 lb yamaha in the edge of the pic this link is basically my ski, minus like two parts. reduction nozzle and valve train upgrade.... http://www.rivayamaha.com/pwc_perf_packages/rxt_stg3_kit.asp
  4. That's good to know about the H-D's, but according to the article in the link I posted below, stock Lightning's run 0-60 in 5.2 and do the quarter in 13.7 with a top speed of 146 mph. What H-D cabs are you saying come with blowers? I have never seen a regular cab H-D. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/pickup...ning/index.html i didnt say anything about the lightning..... i know they run mid to low 5's 0-60... also never said anything about an HD reg cab lol. sorry if i was confusing. i said that the ex. cabs are old, like 01 to 02 maybe.... and those are n/a, VERY slow. like 9.4 seconds 0-60 slow. there were a few crew cabs that looked like the ex cabs that are also the n/a. to a ford fan, they are easily recognized by the old, frosted style headlights and turn signals. the 03-04 HDs are blown, same exact truck as lightning. 2 lbs less boost, fatter tune with less timing. this is strictly for towing purposes. yes that would be a close race, if he were stock. but all it takes is a pulley to climb to 13s for them. thats a meezly $80 bucks.
  5. im sure your faster. i had a 22 classic with a blown 498..... so much torque that if you didnt have the starboard trim tab down all the way the boat would lean ALL the way on its side and yank to the right, pretty much out of control lol. your boat blown.....i can only imagine thanks. its a photoshop, i merged two images.... honestly i think its more than that, i just guessed. the boost is 4+lbs more, and over 20 deg cooler...... i have a riva racing s/c housing with a vortec racing s/c impeller, to get the 10.5 lbs. i have a riva racing intercooler, which is basically the vortec truck intercooler, like chase's. then i have a solas racing 14/17 pump impeller, racing sponsons, intake grate, 3 deg pump wedge, k&n filter with heat resistant tubing(draws cold air from front panel), riva racing thermostat, riva BOV, O.P.A.S. removal with blockoff plates(after pic), and riva free flow exhuast kit. BUT, i thought it was fast, then my buddy builds an RXP for a customer; to 81.7 mph on pump gas. garret turbo, over 18 lbs of boost. 65lb injectors, custom PCM, full intake, exhuast, etc...... its absolutly insane. its all black with oragne flames.
  6. Woah, woah, woah, you didn't mention what kind of F.I well i was thinking about doing FI on the moke, but it was 5k for a TINY blower that ran 5 psi. it was cheaper to get a whole new motor and tranny that makes more power. and just so i fully answer what you mightve asked lol: mini cooper-eaton m45 cobalt ss-eaton m62 sss-eaton mp112 sea doo-vortec/custom housing
  7. yea it rides horrible. and if you think about the 25% load decrease, thats over a stock truck. a truck with a shackle/hanger drop would be more like a 50+% reduction. its the same hieght, but the belltech leafs are much stiffer. so in reality, i think the belltechs would tow better. they will not bottom out either, must have an overload leaf. also, stock shocks are not capable of handling the increase in spring rate. contrary to rumors, they DO NOT bottom out with a drop, i have found that they travel all the way. this is only 100% right for the 05+, the older trucks had different shocks. couldve been better or worse, i just dont know. the front is having the hardest time handling the increase in srping rate, due to having the spindles and keys with a 2.5" drop. BIG handling increase tho, and ride is fantastic in front, very smooth and forgiving. i also did the Mr.P hole drilling mod
  8. haha yes, its a mini moke. i was wondering if anyone would pick up on that..... its a 1972, came with the S motor. 1275cc 4 cyl, thing has like 70 hp and weighs under 900 lbs. now it is just a shell, totally restoring it. its getting a 1300cc all forged race motor, 11.5:1 compression, twin carbs. should make arround 140 at the crank;and its getting a 5 spd i have a feeling its gunna fly lol
  9. yes lol! now im excited. i can just go down to Miami, its no biggie
  10. hahaha that would be like a 7" drop..... well if you had a c-notch lol and small enough tires to fit inside the wheel wells lol
  11. Not to be a dick, but this makes me wonder, did you put them in the right way? They are marked for which eye goes to the front and which to the rear? I have these and the only time I bottomed out was on a wicked bump in the road, and that was only once. no offense taken like i said, i dont think its possible to screw up lol. im ASE certified at that, and the bolts are different sizes in the hangers than in the shackles, so it only fits one way. also they are bowed, and if i put them in upside down, i dont think i couldve gotten the wheel on it absoultely doesnt bottom out, i was just making sure it is supposed to be so stiff..... now i know they are
  12. wow those are amazing...... we need to meet up and take pics together, ive actually tried to in several of those places, but i suck at photography lol. again, NICE
  13. yea that is a hot lightning..... does she blow hard?
  14. well, i recently realized i had inadvertently become addicted to forced induction.... the proof is here lol it started innocently several years ago.....(15 lbs) then, slowly, it became more aggressive....(19 lbs) finally it stole all my money and last, it moved to the water as well (est 245+hp,10.5 lbs) she goes a little over 73 mph, and weighs 830 lbs..... the truck and her get along perfectly.... they are both overwieght and still faster than the jocks
  15. running 305/40/22 pirelli scorpion zeros. hate them enough to drive to pirelli plant and throw them thru the window, along with the cheap eagles of which the chrome is peeling off. out of 4 new tires, 2 had to be immediatly replaced before they even saw the truck. then thru 4k miles 3 more went out of round. i might add that the truck never sits...... they dont hook up worth a damn either, but with a 420 TW i shouldnt expect them to. hard as rock. thinking about either BFG KDW2 or maybe general grabbers. what do you guys think?
  16. well tonight i noticed that the spacers were on the wrong side of the leafs (way to go belltech). so i switched them arround, truck went up about 3/4 an inch. put the button bumpstops in from belltech(like 1/4 inch tall), and the truck wont bottom out. still rides really harsh. how stiff are these supposed to be???
  17. haha i was pondering buying this today..... i got bumpsteer like crazy. thanks for the tip, i just ordered them. sick truck btw, love the welds
  18. thats the 6.0 (low compression) exhaust, the 2500hd/1500hd gas trucks. the muffler is the same p/n as the SS/VHO muffler, just a different exit. the disiel isnt a dual in, its a single. other than the ugly exit, its the same
  19. ok just checked the p/n. its 5952 BLT, advertised as a 3" drop leaf spring http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.aspx/pa...3/categoryid/30
  20. yea of course i took the shackles out. i said in the first post i had stock hangers and shackles...... and yes, they are installed in the correct direction im ASE, i did everything right only thing i can think of, is that i got the wrong p/n leafs. im gunna go see if i can find the p/n on them and look it up. btw jac im definatly more than an inch lower than you in the rear. my corsa hits parking blocks
  21. well ive had the brackets removed since june when i installed the shackles. the stock bumps were on the frame, with only one nub left. i might install those and see how we ride. i see you have a 4" drop leaf..... my truck is about an inch lower than yours, and i have both spacers in there still btw i am so jealous of ur HREs i had some on the Z06 but sold them, and i miss them
  22. the non s/c are either x-cab or crew cab with the old frosted headlights, and the badge is smaller, b/c it doesnt say SUPERCHARGED. those trucks are pretty strong. the only difference between a lightning and a HD is a pulley and a tune(weight of course, but i mean drivetrain). i have a customer with one, an 03. we installed an intake, 2.8 pulley, cat-back, and custom dyno tune. 352/430 to the wheels. stock they run a 6.2 0-60, and a low 14/ high 13 quater. a stock SS will get owned, especially at highway speeds. they have 275/40/20's, (SMALL) and a 4.10, so they pull. just thought id educate the SS family before they go and waste gas and/or pwn some noobs
  23. well its on the bumps right now. im sure the shocks are bottoming out, but there is only 2 inches of possible travel anyways. my two cents, get a hanger to get that extra inch, thats what im doing if the shocks dont fix this
  24. I don't know if anyone has really taken a look at the GMPP kit for the SS here, but it was easy to install (45 minutes), sounds great, costs less, and looks great too. Yeah the tip comes separate, but the entire cost is still less than the others and there are around 6-7 different tips to chose from. I hade zero fit problems, everything fit PERFECT. I even picked up around 2mpg after installing it. Did I mention that the kit is 100% stainless including the tip?? You be the judge, there are plenty of options out there........... in no way was i saying its a POS. i was just sayin that the actual borla product is of higher quality, which it should be for the lots of exta $$$. they do sound great, just dont flow enough for me personally
