  1. Hey guys... i wanna see if i can get yalls opinion... my truck now has about 65k miles on it... but i still want to do some stuff to it. so far all ive done is hotchkis sways, new bilstein shocks, a zippy tune, and a flowmaster HD muffler dumped. I only get enough money here and there to spend on mods, so what i'm worried about is putting more power into the truck, and having something blow like the tranny. i've been reading all these stories on here of guys trannies blowing up, and i just cant afford for that to happen right now. i'm really wanting to look at either a shiftkit + TBTC or some pacesetters/highflow exhaust, but i dunno if i just want to keep the truck as it is now and see how long it lasts, or ride the hell out of it with mods and just fix things as they come along. anyway... i love my truck.. but if i'm going to have some problems in the next 30k miles i might just wanna start saving up for the newest biggest and greatest SS in a few years. any tips/opinions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  2. So my truck has been riding a bit rough for awhile now. A long time ago i thought it could have been the suspension, so i got new shocks (on the front so far anyway) and new hotchkis sway bars. Along with the shocks and sways i got the truck aligned and the tires rotated and balanced (several times). The upgrades did help the ride quite a bit. i looove my shocks and sways, but i'm still getting some form of shake/shimmy/vibration. it feels like the truck is almost shaking from side to side. its not waaay too bad but it gets on my nerves. Discount tire cant find anything wrong with my tires, and the dealership cant find anything either (as usual) What could the problem be? it feels like a suspension issue. i can mostly feel it after 45+ and mostly around 55-65, then when i get over that its fast enough to not bother me as much... more of a vibration than a shake at 75 If any of yall have any ideas, it would be much appreciated. Johnny
  3. So i was on a trip to GA with the fam, and i saw a cleeen black intimidator SS fly by on I-459 around birmingham alabama on last friday. anyone takin a joyride around here? i also saw a red SSS that i havent seen around here in Tyler.. still no people in tyler in here? cause i've seen probably 4 SSS's so far.
  4. I learned how to do this the hard way... 11 PM - I-20 between Dallas and Tyler... Blowout, half the tire is off the wheel. So dropped the freaking spare is easy enough. Figuring out how to take the spare off the pully thing? not so easy if you've never done it. Just a note, pull the spare out from under the truck as much as you can before taking the little pully line off. *Do not* try and take the pully off while under the truck.....
  5. Yes its a maajor improvement in the body lean. this morning i was cruisin about 85-90 down some semi twisty back roads and it handled like a dream. The ride is much more firm, and you can feel a lot more of the road, but i cant give a full account as my rear shocks arent on yet. All in all im very impressed. and yeah, i did have a shop do it. they charged me $130 just to stick the rear swaybar on, due to all the drilling into the frame and such.
  6. Those would be Part Numbers BE5-C891-H0 (Front) and BE5-C892-H0 (Rear) I got mine off eShocks.com, but the deal is, the rear shocks are backordered in germany till late june. at least thats what eshocks told me. $135.90 per set(2) of shocks. free shipping minimum order of $200
  7. Hotchkis Swaybars and Bilstein Shocks for the SS. I think i payed somewhere around, idk 700-800 for the parts and installation.
  8. I got my Swaybars and my front Bilstein shocks installed a few days ago. I love em! Now, just waiting for my rear shocks to come in from Germany...
  9. Mine has done this 2-3 times. scared me to death, but the dealership couldnt figure out what it was. *shrugs*
  10. I love my Road Hugger XRT's from Discount Tire. They look sweet and so far i have been impressed with the traction. Discount Tire
  11. Awesome, when ya get it looked at, could ya let me know? my truck isnt under warranty anymore, so if its nothing too serious, i wont worry about it.
  12. For the past few days ive been drivin around with my windows down and the stereo off in this crazy awesome spring time weather, and I've noticed this weird squeaking noise from under my truck when I hit a few bumps in the road. Not big bumps, but just ones that might make the truck sway a bit. I have no idea what it could be, but its definitely from outside/under my truck. i can only hear it on the passenger side, and i hear it very faintly with the windows up. What could this be? I'm sitting on some shocks, waiting for my sway bars to come in, so i guess that *could* fix the issue, but until then i was wonderin if any of you had an idea on what was up.
  13. That would be Bawls with an S when i get bawls, i get it by the case of 24... used to couldnt find it anywhere but LAN Game parlors and stuff like that... of and of course www.thinkgeek.com Good stuff... my fav.
