  1. I custom ordered mine from the dealer ship. When I first started I was going to get the 5.3 crew, but when I started doing the math with addons for the 5.3, the more the V-Max option made sense/cents. More power, stronger/better drivetrain parts, ride control suspension, only downfall was the gas milage gets 13-15mpg empty or hauling. I don't regret getting the truck in anyway, it has exceded my expectations in every way. The only problem I've had was my temp guage quit working in my cluster, and it took the dealership 2 clusters to correct the problem
  2. 77 vega wagon for free must pick up ASAP. The interior has been striped out. The front end and fenders are gone but the hood is still there. Includes motor and tranny. The car is located in Park Rapids, Minnesota. The body is in decent condition. Would work great for a dragster. Please let me know ASAP otherwise car will be going to the crusher for scrap metal.
  3. I know what your talking about, I e-mailed corsa also and got no reply. So I went out on my own and was able to come up with a part number. Part#14240 This system is for a 05-06 Sierra Denali CC/SB 6.0L Sport-single side exit w/twin pro series 4.0" tips This is the only part number I can find that will fit a CC/SB with the 6.0L and in a 1500 series truck. The cheapest place I've found the system at is: www.fasterthanthem.com for $767.25 Hope this helps, hoping to get mine soon just have to save up some money.
  4. Not yet, trying to save up some money , as soon as I do I will post pics and info on here.
  5. I totally agree, these are way to expensive for what you get, at least at this point in time. I don't plan on getting these any time soon. Personally I would rather get some form of forced induction before I bought coil packs.
  6. Here is what MSD advertises about the product. Finally a performance replacement coil for the popular Gen III GM small block! This engine, most notably the LS-1 and LS-6, is fast becoming a favorite performance engine. But, not just in Camaros, the new GTO and Corvettes - also in muscle cars and street rods. The complex electronic controls of the original coils presented the aftermarket with a challenge as the drivers that control the firing of the coils are built into the OE models. MSD engineers were able to design an advanced circuit that will operate with the factory electronics of the Gen III engine controls while producing a higher output spark. Not only do you get a higher voltage spark, but the coil will deliver multiple sparks! That’s right - multiple spark discharge coils! Notice that the coil has two connectors molded into the custom housing. One accepts the factory coil connector, the other is for an upcoming ignition controller. (This controller is still in the development stages but it will allow you to program functions of the ignition. We’re planning a lot more for the Gen III fans!) The new coils mount in place of most factory LS-1 and LS-6 coils. GM LS-1 and LS-6 Blaster Coil (1 qty) PN 8245 GM LS-1 and LS-6 Blaster Coil Kit (set of 8) PN 82458
  7. Yeah, I checked around and I found a site that has them for just a shade over $500, I also read that msd is developing a ignition controler for these coils??? I kinda have to agree price seems alittle steep. I would like to know what or if there would be a gain or advantage to using these coils(better performance, gas milage, etc.) Is there any other companies that make replacement coils yet? Another question has anyone upgraded their spark plug wires. If so what brand did you go with, what was the cost, and what is your opinion of them?
  8. Just wondering if anyone has tried the coil pack kit from MSD? I think it is MSD PN-82458. If you have what are your opions, thoughts, etc...
  9. How is the overall sound of the truck in your opinion(idle, driving, acceleration, etc.)? What are the interior sound levels like? I'm looking at the corsa sport, and the supermax header kit for my v-max, but I'm worried about it being obniouxiously loud, beings my truck is my daily driver.
  10. I've read on other forums that the sport is too much for the LQ9, My max is my daily driver so I don't want something that is obnoxious, I'm just looking for that nice rich, performance sound. Interior resonance/sound is also another huge thing. I e-mailed corsa awhile back but they never got back to me??? I might just have to call them. That's a damn good price you got from FasterThanThem.com, I'll have to check them out.
  11. This is the first upgrade I want to do to my truck and I'm having trouble finding which system will fit. I see they have one for the 2500 w/ the 6.0, but not the 1500. I have a 06 Sierra CCSB 1500 4x4 w/VortecMax. if anyone knows which kit would fit my truck? It would be greatly appreciated, and also where the best place to buy one from?
  12. My 06 V-max does the same thing, so far it's only done it a couple of times. I guess I've just dismissed it as a quark with the truck, but with only 650 miles on the truck I'm not to worried yet. I really think no matter what make or model of truck we buy there is always going to be something, even the high end luxory cars have their problems. I also agree though that we should expect a superior product for the money we spend, but that is also open to broad interpretation. One thing I always remind myself. I'm buying a pickup-truck, which by design is a working vehicle. I'm just thankful for the advancement and inovations that I have in my truck today. Just think of the truck your father or grand father drove. I'm sure in their day cruise control, FM radio, and automatic transmissions were the geatest things ever. I remember have to manually lock the front hubs on my dads truck to engage the 4WD. Now we have push buton 4WD, XM, etc., etc. When us guys really think about it "We are the Kings of the Road, when were driving our trucks"
  13. Yeah, I think if the denali's came in red I would have one to. Since they didn't I set my heart on the truck I got, I honestly think it's the best 1/2 truck on the market, and by far is the best truck I've ever owned.
  14. Just wondering if anybody out there has done any mods to their V-Max yet? What have you done? Would you recommend it? Was it woth it? etc. etc.... I haven't done anything to my 06 V-Max yet, still getting through the break-in period , but I can't wait to get my hands on her . Thanks for any and all input
