theyve fixed the groan http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30118 but now it whines....sounds like I have knobby tires...but better than the groan/grind

Yes he does....and I think he doesnt like me ... by the way I held off on going to the tranny guy on Street Rd ...thanks for the heads up...Im gonna try universal ...I got a recomended to him by Belmonts Garage.

The 50-60 mph whine ...Im gonna ignore it.heres the invoice for the work they did...It really sounds good...Thanks toall who gave me advise throughout this ordeal.

Ok....dropped the SS off last nite....along with the copy of the TSB .... they just called to tell me that the TSB is not for our truck we have a different RPO ...they pulled the drain plug and it came out hairy as ever. So now they have to keep the truck and open the front diff to see what is what..... to be continued

Don't trade it in, just buy a radix to drown out the sound
lol....Hmmmmmmm......Radix,headers and some 12'' kickers.. I do believe that is the required repair for the "groan"

The last time I was in the dealership I was told there is no TSB that exists for the groan comming from the front end...and without one I could be responsilble for the labor if nothing is found beacause the sound im hearing is "normal AWD noise"...I am so close to trading it in..

i know ... i have this extended warranty til '09...I have everything i wanna put in ( zippy tune,zippy towing kit,t stat,trans cooler) I just dont want them to say its because I have all this installed...I dont know what to do

Ok so now I have been told that they will do the hub bearings and "look at the carrier" if there is no damage I will be resonsilble for the entire bill to reinstall.
wtf! They replaced the right side seal about a month ago and I swear the groan/grind is getting louder! Do we have any recourse for this ? "Its normal AWD noise I am being told.

Hi everyone,
A while back I posted about my thousand dollar windfall to mod out my truck...Here's what I ended up with:
- bought a $100. PCM off a fellow member
- Zippy tune for it - $150.
- Zippy towing kit for the trans - $200.
- $200. for the install
- $100. for a B&M extra capacity trans cooler and the hard lines and fittings from a fellow member
- GM bug deflector $74.99
- 160* t-stat from Auto Zone $31.99
Thats $857.... the rest is going for gas for all the test runs

thank you for the advice
Im just trying to get this settled so i can have my zippy kit, zippy tune ,and tbtc so i dont blow the warranty... my concern is if i let them do the hub bearings and they dont get it right because of not getting the tolerances right or something im just "feeding the spider the fly" if you know what i mean.i can live with it thanks to bose but i paid for the warranty...its not gonna blow or anything like that is it?

Hey holty... it's the slow speed turns when it makes the groan/bad wheel bearing type noise, when on a coast....you know what I mean?

Just got off the phone with the service manager,who tells me he will replace the "hub bearings"
what are they? Is this just some bs way of pacifing me? please advise..........

Hi all,
does anyone have thier zippy tune relearn paperwork? I just got my PCM back from Zippy and no paperwork.
Its like not being allowed to open your xmas presents until new years...I dont wanna wait til monday...

Do you have the noise when turning or the noise around 40-60 MPH with a little peddle applied? I'm asking because there are two different growling/winding noises that this truck would make. I had the 40-60 MPH and they replaced the front differential on mine. If that is what you have I could scan the work order from my dealership and email a copy to you top present to your dealership.
im getting both... the slow turn is making more noise than the 40-60 noise
id appreicate the work order though....

low speed turns make this whining noise come out of my front end... what is this? i found a couple of threads that mention it but none describe what causes it.
Its the Growl.............look in All-Wheel-Drive/Differential/Transmission section.

Hi all,
Just recieved a call from Mr Service manager he goes on and tells me to pick up my truck... I said great! what was the noise? well tech heard the noise ... didnt find a TSB regarding the growling noise comming from the front end . So I asked did you even open up the front differental ...anything? No , he said he will open up the front diff but if they find nothing Im responsilble for the costs.
bullshit. So now Im on my way to pick my SSS up from Weed Chevrolet. Any help from my fellow SS brothers and sisters would greatly be appreicated. Is there a TSB or some kind of ammo I can go back on them with?
