As for the one with 325k even though the owner mechanically maintained it the drivers seat was shot and stepper motors were needed ... Other than that I was still absorbing 325k miles but for $6995 I felt it was a bargin at least buying my truck off the insurance company and doing the swap of parts... It came down to time something that u have very little of with 5 kids at home and me working 40+ a week ... But defiantly worth converting into a street rod but its days as a clean sticker are past

My appologies Vince... I was.honestly heading to you first , just came through the Baltimore tunnel after a 3 hour drive when I called you when you told me you had to power wash mud off the truck... Black is and was my first choice but something about red in the sun and another buyer showed up and just everything was too nice to walk... Sorry brother good luck with your sale

ok... the upload worked guys... so I think it has a wheel bearing going I hear something when I give it even the slightest bit of gas but when I coast its quiet...and it needs a flowmaster why too silent...lol but after 8 years of Black ...Red is gonna get some use to.

Well my search throughout the east coast has ended with a 31/2 drive to our nations capital... A big thanks to all the members who offered me thier prize possessions ... But I was handcuffed by the lame offer my insurance company gave me for my SSS ...
She is pretty very clean.. Solid 140k clean carfax but after seeing the SSS with 325k mileage isn't a concern
So I got to take my good mark steel cowl and my fiberglass tonnue... Will the 03 hood fit on a 07?

i believe the owner of the 03 with 325k miles is a older guy that owns a used car lot in NJ...I spoke to his son but his Dad must have gotten in and out ALOT with the wear in the drivers seat...

Since my SSS got totalled 2 weeks ago my search for its replacement has opened my eyes to the market of this prized vehical we all love...
- .$6995 for a clean exterior / interior drivers seat hurting one owner but 325,000 orignal miles with orignal engine trans always synthetic never rebuilt...runs awesome still has a lot of beast left...wow
- $10995... 149,000 miles smells like a kennel and but rebuilt the transmission
- $14500...140000 miles red and 30" ....really?
but there are alot of nice ones out there too..

The time is coming for me to make a decision on what to do...Ive owned her for almost 8 years... she has been sprayed with concrete from 7 floors up, taken apart painted and put back together...had paint speckled all over her and taken back apart and full dipped again...rear ended by a Caddy STS at 60 taken apart,fixed with "new GM"frame painted and put back together...only to that very same night I got her back after 64 days to be confronted by a deer at 50 fixed...everytime I took her to Faukner/GMC where she gets fixed right with new GM parts and looks and feels like I drove her off the lot.
Now just recently she got rear ended by a semi on I95 morning rush hour traffic where if anyone knows the Philly traffic its stop and go maybe getting to 30...So I looked at my reciepts and I am just over $50k in body and paint but not out of my pocket! This time around Ive been told $10300 in damage but my insurance wants to total her and even though I hold the title free and clear they reserve the right to take her and give me "fair maket value" ...and if I want to keep her they will sell her back to me for $4996 in salvage..they will deduct that from the $12,276 plus tax and title fees minus my $500 deductable...wtf
So over these 8 years I have put AEM cold air,Zippy tune and Zippy kit into my recently rebuilt trans,Gauge cluster with blue LED kit done by SIlverado777, Boush fuel pump,Goodmark steel cowl hood,Leer fiberglass cover, and last but not least the sound of flowmaster exhaust the gets my kids up from the tv to be doing thier chores when Dad walks through the door.
Yesterday I drove over 5 hours round trip to look at a 03 black twin of my truck...minus the ugly PepBoys pinstripes why people do that is beyond me but he bought it a year ago for 15700 and now has been tring to sell it for $12900 firm, now by all means I feel my truck is easily worth $18-20k and this one is unmolested but all the goodies that "us" on SSS.com have put on our trucks is not on this one I offered him $11400 and walked away it needs a full set of tires and a state inpection...
So my friends my question to the forum is do i tell my insurance I want my truck, let Faulkner do the roughly $8k worth of work on her minus probally paint ...oh it will now have a "salvage title" from now on and have to pass a enhanced inspection from the state to be registed...I cant get through to the insurance that my truck is worth more than the industry "NADA book value" that they say it is am I to keep mine (which I wanted to keep forever) at least I still have one help me brothers..

...yeah the bed did hit the cab which in turn caused the rear window to blow out...
And yes very fortunate to be able to walk away and drive... I have really considered writing to GM thanking them for building such a strong vehicle.. This is the second rear end collision it took the first was by a STS at 50 mph and the rear section of the Frame was replaced at Faulkner GMC..

Hey all,
Its been a while since I ve posted...life happens you know but last week on I95 heading to work... I got rear ended by a Tractor trailer...ugh
And the insurance (my Insurance) is offering me $13,300 minus deductable and mileage $12,270....so the hunt goes on to find me another one...no less... equal maybe alittle better.
they said the frame is bentbut with the bed off it didnt look like it had any damage? So if anyone know of one for sale please let me know...I live just north of Philly id travel to get another...

Update............. So it turns out that I get the call with the good news ,bad news conversation....good news is that the trans isnt completely ****ed..1 st gear slips but 2nd,3rd,4th arent that bad....but the bad is the sound I heard when I backed up was the transfer case...apparently there is a gear about the size of your hand is completely stripped...so the 1600 rebuild drops to 1500 and hes gonna charge me only for the part since its close to 500 for that...2k for the whole job....which is fantastic price and I have heard from 4 people now that the guy is aces!!

Driving down Rte1 today,floored to get around a tractor trailer doing 30,heard a loud boom them 1st gear is now slipping...limped home ...put in reverse to back in drive and making a noise like a baseball card on the spokes of your bike...put it in park and it rolls...
So Im sure its done...any suggestions? 125,000 miles i cant really complain
As a unemployed union electrician Ive only worked 7 weeks this year so I was looking for someone to refer me to a reputable shop....I live north of Philly
Anyone know ballpark how much a rebuild will cost?

greetings..yeah i got the SS all cleaned up looking forward to finally meeting fellow members...waiting in line to register...seen a few guys also in line then someone hit my daughters car in a parking lot and had to go...maybe next one!

came off my full size spare on my old 03. found it in a junk box and thought someone could use it. color is ultra silver metallic and is decent condition for a daily driver. make offer. ships from 70518.

Two questions......when was the last time you checked your oil? and does the truck still turn over?
Most likely a bad fuel pump......
.....and yeah she cranks....sorta putts and then cranks...

well after 8 years with a black SSS now when I walk out to this red one I feel like I dated a smoking hot biker chick for 8 years now im with the prom queen...go figure but shes completely unmolested 2004 SSS...perfect interior,everything works,no rattles,drives solid,xm that works but i dont know for how long , but apparently somehow she has a 06-07 HD hood which I will be selling as I have my Goodmark cowl from my previous girl...
