  1. Yeah im actually considering buying a left over 2013 at one of the local dealerships but all that epa crap is getting harder and harder to rip off... now that they really cracked down on the programer companies, even if you can find someone to rip all the shit off it is a bitch to tune it! damn government oppression haha kidding dont get all political on me
  2. Yeah im aware of the injector issue, I've had tons of d-maxes in the past. It was kind of hit or miss, luck with the injectors really... had an 04 that went over with hundreds of thousands of miles and no issues. The replacement injectors are the same ones even, they didn't even change the design from what i understand just put new ones in and hope you got a good set. Besides, you should can buy the injectors and change them yourself for 1500$, dont pay those insane prices for the labor that is difficult but not extremely if you can wrench at all.
  3. Hey guys, I'm searching for a Duramax to play with and figured someone here may have one or seen a good deal floating around. I'll be back in So Cal here shortly and looking to pick up a Duramax the same year range as our SS trucks 03-07. I'm game for a dually 3500 or 2500 but would only want 4x4. I'm thinking about doing the SS replica dually I've been wanting to do for awhile. So if yal see any good deals on a 4x4 duramax for around low 20s and preferably under 100k (not to far over is considerable though) then let me know! I think it would make a great addition to my driveway with the SS. Also willing to travel for a great deal, I'll be all over the country in the next month and a half so guys all across the south coast to coast don't hesitate to tell me what you got!!! Thanks guys. P.S. if it aint a dually, already lifted or leveled with larger tires is highly desired
  4. Hey guys, I often search craigslist to see what other SSs are out there (tons of them around LA) and often weep at the condition I find them in. This one, I don't know what to think. Seems like it actually was a factory SS, the guy only has 50k on it I think and painted it orange like that daytona sunset vette color... oh and he added some silly escalade looking vent in black on the side, check it: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/4291712431.html
  5. Hey chpspecial... how much free time you got these days? I've been itching to get my cam, supercharger, intake and all the other parts that make up the thousands of dollars sitting in storage unit plus get some tranny work and a good tune done... if you have any free time the week of Feb 10th (monday) to the 15th (friday), I'd like to throw some cash your way and get some wrenching in!
  6. Yeah my only worry is having the space to do it, removing the axle clips and axles will be hard in my storage unit since its so skinny/tight
  7. This looks easier than changing a hub http://www.ehow.com/how_4843774_rear-wheel-bearing-chevy-truck.html
  8. Thats exactly what I hope isn't happening, but probably is. How big of a pain in the ass would it be to change myself?
  9. I think you found a Japanese redneck haha... he is really going for a NASCAR truck series look and it isn't terrible. I wouldn't do those headlights and the bumper he made is a little crazy ricer style but could have some potential if he integrated the silver brake ducts back in to it. I like the effort, he was really chasing that wind tunnel NASCAR look for sure.
  10. going which route blown? getting a shop to press in a new one?
  11. Yeah one is broken off, pissed me off pretty bad... Discount tire broke it off when I was getting new tires and they couldn't get the wheel off because they said they lug was just spinning. I was furious but couldn't do anything about it and painfully let it go. Anyways it doesnt seem to effect anything but I do want to get it fixed. Mean while, I thought wheel bearings may have been going out after I started searching for reasons why I have a noise while the truck is rolling and got mixed up between front hubs and rear and spaced out for a minute believing I could change the rear similar to how I could swap out the front. I'll be driving the SS back across country from Cali to Tennessee when I get home and want to fix the noise before I go in case it is something more serious so hence I'm doing some digging today so I know where to start and hit the ground running when I get home. Maybe it is the front brakes and I'm mistaking it for the rear making the noise or something else brake related... frustrating to say the least but I'll just have to spend all day screwing with it when I get home and figure it out before I take off across the country. Thanks.
  12. Yeah my piss poor wording was probably confusing. I think I have two different issues, one being there is no real issue and I just want the broken stud that doesnt seem to cause any problem fixed for mostly cosmetic sake and two the light grinding sounds and a slight squeak as I roll down the road. I think I'll finally mount my big brake kit and see if it was the brakes makes the noise and leave the stud as is. Thanks, I know this was confusing.
  13. The more I search, the more I hope this is still a brake issue :/
  14. Would I have to replace the entire rear axle to fix the broken stud?
  15. Anyone here replaced their rear hubs? I can't find any rear hub assembly after lots of searching, is it the same as the front? Short back story, I have some noise coming from the rear and I thought it was the brakes but after changing rotors/pads/calibers it still persist and I plan on changing the hub/bearings in the rear since one of the studs is broken off anyway. Any guidance on this would be much appreciated!
  16. there are a few of them on LS1tech, they have basic to fully built ones... I think you have to be a member for six months before you can do the classifieds there but you may find a way to get one if you are not a member yet... good luck!
  17. I see no mention of the engine and drivetrain... how's under the hood and underneath looking moving parts wise?
  18. Bump. By bump I mean: "please, take my money"
  19. Plan on giving mine a refresh soon as well. Lookin good, love seeing the SS trucks being taken care of right!
  20. Asking for those keys in no time!
  21. I tried using that logic myself but couldn't let mine go. GLWS, that is one clean SS.
  22. Haha I hate to say I told ya so, I don't feel like digging back through but I said FSU is a great team but they haven't played anyone and I got jumped in this forum. The did win though, that is what counts at the end so hats off to them for winning but I'm confident that if they played the schedule of any other top ten team really they would not have made it. Everyone outside of the SEC hates on that strength of schedule argument but it looked to have credited itself in that game. FSU was way WAY over hyped, really it all came down to timing because if they would have played Miami later in the season then that wouldnt have been hyped up and they would only have had the big Clemson win to ride on. Basically I like FSU and they are young talent that will be dangerous again next year... however if they had the same schedule as Alabama, LSU, Auburn, (insert SEC team here), or even Oregon, Stanford, arguably Ohio State... dang now that i think about it the ACC was way more of a joke than the media says and they probably wouldn't have survived in the SEC, Pac 12, Big 12, or even the Big 10!
  23. That's a nice opinion you have there. Sounds just like the "spread" offense and it being the future. Well it works because it is new and takes adaptation, just like the spread. The teams that beat Alabama played fast and were ready, that is why they won (with a little luck on Auburn's side haha). However, at the end of the day... FSU won the title and they were modeled after Alabama. That is not Alabama fan hype, that is FSU's own words and backed up by some great facts. At the end of the day, everyone has their own opinion and unlike most Americans I respect different view points. I appreciate the fact we can talk about this like adults, that is hard to do and childish fans are the only thing that pisses me off. Some fans need to grow up.
  24. We're not all the same. Since Alabama just happened to be on a good run they got the most coverage and the media blew it up for every cent they could. You and I both know there are fans from EVERY team ranging from SEC straight through college football and on through NFL, NBA, NHL, etc that think their team is the end all be all of their sport. I get just as much trash talk wearing my Alabama stuff on the west coast than I got when I wore it in Florida during college when Bama and the Gators were at each others throat. Fans, Alabama and others, are going to be fans regardless... I think you singled out the Tide because they happen to have been the ones winning. Oregon fans can be just as bad, so can USC, hell even Duke fans trash talk in football all of a sudden. Yes, one hell of a game it was!
