  1. 150 shot should put ya around 11.6 possibly 11.5 if it bites out of the hole. 118ish mph.
  2. what did you do with all of your drum stuff? how hard would a disk to drum swap be? drums would fit my 15" bogarts better.
  3. because theres no need for me to step up to speed density. im looking at getting a 85mm maf now i guess. keeps my truck running good:)
  4. thanks:) you could always RAM me off of the track haha.
  5. im guessing the race weight is 4400-4500 lbs????? the 60' was 1.69 and 7.72 1/8 at 88mph on a 100 shot progressive i went 7.48@93 but that was with everything turned way down low to run the 7.50 bracket class. i didnt get the full 100 for 1.6 seconds into the run. with the shot out of the hole i should have 7.3's on the 100 shot. it will eventually be a 200 shot or more.
  6. resurection haha. changed the setup a little. 500rpm higher torque converter, 231/239 .617/.623 111+2 cam and a ported fast 90mm intake goes on in the next week or so. if i dont make 11's n/a this winter ill burn it i have also installed my nitrous kit. NX kit good to 250 shot 2 10lb bottles NX purge NX bottle opener NX bottle heater NX bottle heater controller NX bottle jacket nitrous outlet switch panel nitrous outlet nitrous plate kit FJO progressive controller (RPM cutoff, window, progressive, lockout, TPS, 2 stage controller)
  7. i had a ls1 with patriot stage 2 ls6 heads and a 226/226 112 cam for that pass... now i have the same heads ls1 but with a 231/239 .617/.619 111+2 cam with a bigger converter and a ported fast 90mm intake manifold goes on in the next week or so. should be good for 11's on motor and who knows on my nitrous.
  8. we have what i call a chevy sewing machine... listen to other trucks like yours...they all do it. the more you open it up, the more you hear it. headers, cam, heads, exhaust, intake, it all makes it more audible. you also may be hearing your injectors firing. they are pretty loud. my motor has 130,000+ miles of nitrous and 7,000 rpm shift points and its still on the stock lifters.
  9. just curious. is it 78mm like our throttle bodies or 85mm? i always hear about f body guys putting on 85mm maf's and was curious if the trucks maf was different than the camaros.
  10. wow this was a fun thread to read...some facts about my truck 5.3 stock cam = 13.88 ls1 stock cam = 13.26 ls1 226/226 cam = 12.49 same cam ls1 with patriot heads = 12.19 gained zero power with LS6 intake manifold now i have a 231/239 .617/.623 111+2 cam and nitrous. this cam feels awesome. lost 0 bottom end and running 12.30 in nasty weather in compared to my 12.19 in amazing weather. 7.48 1/8 with new cam progressive out of the hole on a 100 shot. it should have a low 7.3x on the 100 shot out of the hole. swapping on a ported fast 90mm with a nick williams 90mm throttle body in the next week or two. i shouldnt have a problem making 11's on motor with the new cam and manifold. in the end, you guys are splitting hairs here. sure on paper the lq9 is a better motor, but the ls1 was under rated on paper by gm so your average joe can afford the insurance on a camaro...it was also de-tuned so your 30k dollar camaro couldnt compete with the 50k dollar chevy flagship car (corvette). mod for mod i dont see the advantage of one motor over another. the lq9 has the extra cube, but the ls1 has the weight. i would stick either motor in my truck! a buddy of mine has a heads/cam lq9 with a 90mm intake. our cams are pretty close and our dyno's are very close. we matched HP and he has 10 more torque than me...he did have a 90mm setup over my LS6 78mm stuff. get whatever motor you can find cheapest. i got my longblock for $275 and it has over 130,000 miles on it right now.
  11. ok i figured everything out. my stage 2 243 heads will put me at 11.5:1 SCR and 8.79DCR with a 234/236 112+4 cam with .040 cometic gasket. sounds like a good combo to me.
  12. i am currently running a 5.7 LS1 with a 226/226 cam. i figure the LS1 and 6.0 have different deck heights. i really need a calculator for a lq9 to show me the SCR and DCR of different possible combos. my ls6 heads are 64cc unmilled.
  13. heres the scoop. i might have found a 2007 lq9 for 300 bux. im currently running a heads/cam/bolt on LS1 in my truck. if i do this i want to step it up. more cubes, more compression and more cam. i want to put my patriot 243's on this motor but im not sure if there will be any P2V clearance issues. im thinking the cam will be in the 234/236 112+4 area in the size range but i cannot find a compression calculator for the lq9 anywhere to figure out the specs so i can know where to mill the heads to, or what size head gasket i will need.
  14. DJM 2" drop hangers that came off of my 2001 silverado. 75 + ship doetschtech drop shocks for the rear. took them off of my truck too. 50 shipped. added caltracs so thats why i took this stuff off. caltracs wont work with djm hangers. if interested E-MAIL ME!!!! it will get to me faster that way.
