Hmm, I had no problem mounting mine. I mounted it with the plastic lip and fake screws facing up. I did have to take off my talegate to install it tho.

I mounted mine just above that cap and it fits fine if were talking about the same thing

I'll see if i can get a drive by sound clip this weekend. The x pipe balances out the exaust and i think it helps a little with performance. Man I didn't realize how dirty my truck was when I took those pictures especially underneath. It's dam near impossible to keep it clean up here.
