  1. Thanks for the info-I will roll over 100k this morning. I'll have to call a friend of mine at the dealer to check on recall. I really appreciate your reply.
  2. Hi guys, my speedo has been acting up for a couple months now. This evening didn't work at all on the way home. I also have a noise in the truck-started out like brake wear indicator squeal but I pulled all wheels, brakes are fine. I am wondering about wheel speed sensors since they are built into the hub & bearings. I can hear a metallic noise while driving beside divider wall on interstates, but not grinding like wheel bearing. Any ideas or experiences with similar scenario? Thanks for any input!!!
  3. If you're like me you're going to drop money into whatever you drive! Why start all over again? You probably have it pretty much like you want it, keep it and enjoy what you have! I have struggled with the same questions you have, but when I sat down and did the math I just couldn't justify the money to change rides (knowing I would customize the next one also). I am keeping mine!!!!
  4. Thanks for the info guys, I knew you would come thru. That looks awesome!!!!!! It's not something that everyone else has. Thanks again!!
  5. No, I've wanted one for a couple of years but three kids (two in diapers) cost a ton of money. Anxiously awaiting!! From what I've read on here the difference is unbelievable, I'm also looking forward to the increase in gas mileage.
  6. Got my bonus check and finally able to order PCM thru Bryan(PCMforLess), he offered SSS owners a tax season special-no core $250 tune Just anxious, thought I would share my joy! Goodbye Superchips, will use it on my wife's Tahoe!
  7. Just curious if any SSS's have aftermarket mesh grilles (not speed grilles) I know at one point it was discussed trying to get one of the companies to make us some, but what became of that?
  8. Congrats on the big move, I served 4 years in submarine force on USS Key West when she was stationed in Norfolk, VA. I have never regretted that decision, you will make friends that you never will lose touch with. Be proud and stay strong!! Boot camp is all a mental game, keep your head on straight and play by the rules and you'll be fine! Go Navy!!!
  9. Eight inch bowtie in bottom center of rear window
  10. Curious about Fitch Fuel Catalyst, anyone running one on an Sss? Any good or bad experiences? With gas prices increasing again just looking for anything that might help (other than slowing down--too heavy footed for that!!!) Saw this on Horsepower TV, Fitch Fuel Catalyst either drops into fuel tank or connects into fuel line, like fuel filter, lowers hydrocarbons by average of 39% and most magazines are saying they see an improvement in fuel mileage of 2 to 3 MPG--would be great for our trucks. Also, says you can run 1 grade lower octane and not have ping problems. If you Google them there are numerous results & reviews. Drop ins run about $125 shipping included, I just thought maybe someone here may have tried one. Sport Truck Mag installed drop ins in a 454 Suburban and saw a 2.5MPG increase--sounds pretty good to me!!
  11. I'm with several others, I run Chevron Techron per GM recommendations.
  12. Hey, mine is an 03 with about 88K, only major repair has been RF wheel bearing(probably due to 22's) and replace front differential bearings. Now setting both rear O2 sensor codes, haven't yet dealt with that, will probably try sensors first but could be converters. I bought my truck with 13K on it and love it!!!! I drive 30miles each way to and from work plus take kids to school and ballgames, super reliable, average around 16MPG and I usually cruise at about 75MPH on interstate.
  13. Spindles & shackles, crank down torsion bars till raked stance achieved--careful with that as can cause vibration according to some but I haven't encountered any of that with my '03. Follow Mr. P's guide to lowering and you're in there like swimwear. Oh yeah, when you go for an alignment be sure the shop can adjust caster/camber with wheels elevated-some have said their local shops said they had to raise the front to achieve proper alignment which is untrue if they (the alignment shop) has the right equipment and a tech who knows what he is doing. Good luck!!! These guys know their stuff!!!
  14. Sorry guys, the wheels are sold.....Thank you for your responses.
  15. 1st question--Normal on hill for clunk due to weight of vehicle on tranny 2nd question--Sounds like a U-joint or joints to me Bonus--Tranny will slip under load but if its clunking I would replace your u-joints first (cheapest option compare to tranny rebuild) and I bet the clunk will go away. Tranny doesn't usually clunk without MAJOR internal problem!
