  2. i think that is the best looking hood out there... i was going to buy one this spring, but went with heads and a cam instead Brad
  3. i've had my bbk sitting on the self for about a year now...it reads reduced engine power when i floor it. I can't figure it out either. Brad Brad, Was yours electronic throttle control?I am going to pull it apart right now...we'll see? drive by wire, yes sorry i can't help you out, but at least your not alone
  4. if the numbers i used are right. the 59cc heads would give me a 8.51 dcr. Is that where the motor should be or should it be higher to get more bottom end and a hp,tq curve that is lower in the rpms Brad
  5. i tried doing some searching and found some answers but not sure if they are for the lq9. I found: bore: 4.00" stroke: 3.622 i think the piston to deck clearance is .025? what is our rod legth? 6.096? what is the head gasket bore? 4.04? What is the head gasket thickness for a lq9 gm gasket. .052 compressed? Thanks guys for any help! This my first go around on figuring this out. Brad

  7. hey guys, I'm looking at putting a set of heads and a cam in my truck, the heads I'm looking at right now are 59 cc chambers and based off what i found with a stock gm gasket that will me at 11.1-11.2 compression. Does any one have any concerns with that high of ratio on 93 octane with 10% ethanol??? Also, i know this is only static compression and dynamic is the one you can play with a little via cam. I don't understand how to figure out dynamic ratio thou. can any one explain that to me?? I was thinking of using the xr275hr cam: 275,277 advertised, 222,[email protected] and .566,.568 lift on a 112. Thanks much and please offer all opinions on compression and cams Brad
  8. ummmmm "kr"???? knock retard??? With zippy tuning the truck in person, i'm going to say no way.
  9. zippy tuned the truck in person at route 66 raceway, so I'm sure the tune is right on the money. The weather on my best past before the converter was 48 degrees, the truck had no water temp reading when i raced, and i launched at 1700 rpm. I don't have any notes about wind or humidity no I am assuming there was none. The whole run looked like this: 60 2.027 330 5.850 1/8 9.074 76.38mph 1000 11.899 1/4 14.340 92.06mph my best time after the converter was at route 66, the truck was at about 180 degrees, the temp was 71 and i just loaded the drivetrain at 1000 rpm. 60' was slower at 2.096 but mph went up to 94.04 at the end with a 14.355 pass. for whatever reason i didn't take notes on my last race this year but it was mid Sept so temps must have been lower at night. that best was a 2.064 60' but 14.39 et. I'd like to know if i'm doing something wrong, but i've tried diff. coolant temps, and higher and lower launch speeds with almost no improvement.
  10. 2800 best of 2.027 before converter best of 2.064 after I've tried launching it from 2200 to just loading the drivetrain at 1000. doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. don't know what I'm doing wrong
  11. i have the PI 3 disk on my truck with a FLT trans. It realy does seem like another gear when the thing locks up. I haven't noticed any chatter from it at all. I didn't, however, get any et gains from it. The truck ran 14.3 before it and 14.3 after it. figure that out. FLT deals with PI on their converters so maybe he can get you a good price. He was great to work with and customer service is the best! Brad
  12. revolution is also a good guy to talk to when setting up events in the IL, WI area. As well as WIdave and i think the guy is stiff1 with a super charged SS. A couple other guys came to but i can't remember who sold their trucks and who didn't, like 6.0ss, PDP, BOB47. Brad
  13. last spring, somewhere around opening day of the track, we had a good get together at route 66. I was thinking about getting that set up next year again. Zippy did come to the event, but remember it's still a long drive for him. Brad
  14. 2800 stall, but i think it's on the tight side to. But like revolution said, that cam would move my HP way up in the rpms. At 5900 shift points would i even be using the cam for it's potential? Brad
  15. might be too much for this truck then. Let me know about the other cam. Thanks Brad
  16. so why should i wait??? whats the down side? LOL Thanks for the fast reply, I think I'll stick with your advise then, unless you think we can make this cam work good in my truck. If we would have to bump the rpm up on the motor to use this cam, I'd be worried about what you said at the track.... parts everywhere. But if the cam will work, for a good price it might be worth it? Brad
  17. is it this name "Quik" and he is running a reg cab truck. is that the guy? what about the duration worries you, loss of compression, idle, ??? Thanks Brad by the way ran a 14.39 last time out at GLD with your tune. I was running 2 mph faster at route 66 though, must have been that tail wind.
  18. hey zippy, I've been talking to you and Frank about a cam for a while. Is that cam too much for my motor (Comp Cam 236/238 601/605 113 $290). I mean damn, thats a lot of duration on a low lsa. I was thinking about a 112 lsa, but thought a 114 would be better since i put 320 miles a week on my truck. Can you program a 113 to run good on the street. or beter yet will it idle with that much duration. My mods are, 2800 PI stall, flp stage 4 trans, daul in/out muffler, CAI, underdrive pulley, lower t- stat, and your tune. or would i be better with something around 228-230 duration. I don't plan on SC or bottle. Maybe some long tubes, and getting my BBK throttle body to work would be nice to. Brad
  19. nuff said on who can beat who... When you get back to WI, i hope you keep us guys in mind when you head to the track. Always nice to meet another truck down there. Brad
  20. Well, i turned out to be a cool night of racing. The track was packed, they were backed out on to the road trying to get in. Dave showed up, Frank cam up here and a silent member, that hopefully will start to post a little bit now. I didn't do anything crazy out there, no new records for me. 14.49, then 14.46 and 14.395, best so far is 14.340. Because of all the cars it was hard to let the truck cool and still get runs in so it wasn't ideal conditions, but still ran pretty good. Dave got to show a HEMI that the ss is still the faster truck! It was awesome to see Revolution's truck up here, kicking ass the whole way. Pictures are real dark and hard to see, I'll have to look at them on my computer after work today, my wife's computer sucks for graphics. Thanks to all the guys for coming out the track, and thanks to all the girls for putting up with us out there! Brad
  21. does that truck run high 13's???? she hangs out somewhere around 13.5 at 102 NA wow, sounds like a nice motor in there. Faster then i am! Sucks that Revs. truck weighs like a 1000 pounds more and can walk you though. LOL Just messing with ya
  22. I'm still going down there. However none of the dodge guys from 2 diff. forums wanted to meet down there. Brad
