  1. If that is the one you ordered they tend to be a little flimsy to me. Perma-cool makes much better coolers than the one displayed in that link. I used a similar version as that one a few trucks ago. But to answer your question, for the most part if it will fit in there it will work. It comes down to how you want to mount and connect that might change your definition of "will it work". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Ben! I think I'll give it a try. I only use mt ruck for drag racing and to get to and from the track so I'm sure this one will serve my purpose.
  2. Erik, What's more efficient about the B&M's? Is it their design? I know a lot of drag racers that use the perma-cool with no problem. I already ordered the Perma-Cool just to try something new...I kinda like to be the one doing something different around here sometimes! The price was right so if it doesn't work out I can always go to a B&M later. Thanks!
  3. Will this cooler work in my 03 or does it need to have female threads? Perma-Cool
  4. Does the cam work well with a virtually stock motor and a 2600 stall? I plan to add new heads in the future with a cam and a 300 stall? Is this cam good for all of this?
  5. I have one on the way and will be installing soon. I plan to use steel braided hoses rather than rubber. My question is will I need to change the tranny fluid when completed or just add more for the bigger cooler. Thanks! -JJ-
  6. Great! I'll just borrow yours then Erik!
  7. That was actually my brother working. I don't work there any longer but I was there racing. I believe the first street legal is July 15 and 16. Day races now as there are no lights yet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hopefully they have the lights up by winter. I wanna run the best I can <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Should be up by then...the track is already wired for them, they just ran out of money for now.
  8. The better question is who are you? How's the baby coming along? I meant the human one, not the TBSS!
  9. I'm thinking of learning to do my own tuning and I was wondering which version I should buy? Is the standard ok or should I get the pro? TIA.

  11. Well, in the final I raced an 84 El Camino but in a bracket race you can compete with any and everything because of the handicap starting system. You're basically racing against time more than the other car as in a heads-up race.
  12. Thanks a lot man. You should have been there. It was hot but the car counts were lower than expected and it was a lot of fun. I gave Open Comp a try on Saturday and managed to pull a .007 out of my rear for the #1 qualifier spot. Not bad for never racing on a pro tree and 22" wheels. Val won Open Comp on Saturday and Scott won the No-E/Electronics combo bracket class on Saturday. It was a good weekend for the camp!
  13. Any info on where to get one?
  14. Those of you in the drag racing "know" realize the accomplishment here. My trusty SS took me to the winners circle in the pro class on Sunday at the NHRA Pacific Division National Open at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I won't mention my times (they don't matter much in a bracket race anyway) because the corrected altittude was over a mile high (that's 5,280 feet for all of you non-math types). High altitude=reduced power which, in turn=crappy times! Check HERE for pics. Go to the top event on the right hand side of the page and go to page 4. That's me, the fiancee and family/friends in the photos with the trophy and one shot of the truck in the final.
  15. Kenny Youngblood is a damn good artist, nice choice! I look forward to seeing you at the next Goodguys event.
  16. Yeah man, a lot of people compliment it all the time. Some dude I saw in Irvine had a clean stock Victory Red SS and was asking me about the rollpan.. he loved it.. he said he couldnt find one anywhere, so I directed him to this site to talk with BSER. I have even had a guy ask me how many hours I have spent waxing my truck with layers of Zaino.. hahah. I told him I use DER and he's like WTF is that? I want to run my truck at a track, but the only 1/4 runs in Pomona I have ever done was at the IDRC shootouts back when I was into imports and had my '97 Eclipse turbo (which BTW, ran an 11.7 @ 132mph!) So how/where can I run this thing for fun just to get a time? Maybe we can race your TBSS vs your old SS there <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Still looks good man! I think I saw you in the parking lot of 24 Hour Fitness in Foothill Ranch not too long ago. Anyway, California Dragway at California Speedway in Fontana runs 1/4 mile. Reopens at the end of the month. http://www.californiaspeedway.com/track/Ca...rniaDragway.jsp <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Crazy man, you must have. I think I saw your SS too... are half of your SS emblems off in the back so it looks like two upside down L's? I think it was yours. Where do you live? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep that was me. They're supposed to be J's for my initials, JJ. I live in Rancho Cucamonga, near Dylan, but my fiancee lives in RSM so I'm down there a lot. I'll probably see ya around again but most likely not in my SS so don't look for it! I'll be in my white hot rod Nissan gas saver!
  17. I'd love to go open but many tracks won't let me race in my class without mufflers.
  18. I don't know if I'm that computer savvy but I'll see what I can do.
  19. I already have short headers and the it's only .5 inch bigger than what I have on there now.
  20. Well she'll be loud at least! Magnaflow race series muff's, 3.5 in/out. Gonna take out the cats and replace the tubing with 3.5 inch pipe into these bad boys with turndowns.
  21. Nothing really! I've just delegated my truck to pretty much racing only now that I have another car so I'm not concerned with noise, smell, or smog! Within the next three years, we should see mid 12's without a turbo or supercharger! For now, I'm just removing the cats and changing over to Magnaflow race series mufflers, that's all.
  22. Anyone ever done this? I'm not talking about gutting and turning off sensors...I'm talking about replacing the piping from the headers all the way back. No cat's at all and no sensors. Will this work with a re-tune???
