  1. I wouldn't recommend powder coating. Powder coat involves heat in the neighborhood of 4-500 degrees. Certain grades of aluminum change their properties at 400 degrees and above. Could be a disaster. I'd check with the manufacturer and see if they think it is a good idea.
  2. My AC/Heater only works on 1-4, I'd imagine i have the same problem as those above. Now for the million dollar question, where is this thing located, and what does it look like? Would like to get it running on all speeds.
  3. I pity the poor tire grunt who breaks down a tire filled with O2, while smoking. Can you say richard pryor?
  4. You can also list on ebay as local pickup only, bring cashiers check. for the 50 or so bucks to create the listing, you may get lucky.
  5. I tend to agree with you. 30psi of air has the same rolling resistance as 30psi nitrogen.
  6. Many thanks. I figured somewhere on this mesaage board there would be a thread related to fuel mileage. As suspected, theres really not much to improve on. So be it. It still does better than my buddys dodge LOL.
  7. Hey, I didnt buy it for ecomomical transportation either. Theres nothing wrong with thinking about saving 100 or so a month on gas. I still bet I am not the only one thinking of this. I may be the only one humble enough to ask though.
  8. In honor of 4.40 a gallon gasoline, stepped on with 10% alcohol, I just thought I'd ask. I am fairly stock with a PCM tweek, average about 15.2 overall. I am sure the thought has crossed many here's mind, but I dont see any posts.
  9. how difficult is it to remove the armrests? The vinyl on mine is cracking.
  10. Wow, a huge thank you to the original poster for this piece of information. I removed the bolt, and after some effort to free the stuck shaft, if finally moved towards the firewall freely, I did the pump thing, and poof, no more clunking. Even with the stuck shaft, still only took 5 min's. GREAT TIP, My personal thank you to the OP.
  11. Fox- I had a couple of hundred in the material and powdercoat, and about 4 hours labor in bending, welding and sizing the UHMW inserts to fit the stake holes. My business is in towers and t-tops for boats, bending the alum pipe and welding is a breeze. There are similar on the market, but I just dont like the look of them or how they mount. Jon- the way they are layed out, they follow the body lines 4" . They look better in person. The pics for ebay were intentionally shot at odd angles to add to the difficultyto make duplications.
  12. I made those from aluminum pipe, and powder coated the silver. They are removed by unplugging them from the bed stake holes. There are no drilled holes or fasteners securing them. The truck is a work vehicle not a pleasure ride. Need something there for protection. A fiberglass bed cover wont work for me. The stripes were done for me by a graphics guy in the warehouse nextdoor to mine. It was at no cost, since he needed the truck to pattern and photo for his ebay ventures. The stripes pop nicely, the photos really dont do justice for the metallic in the vinyl. The vinyl itself is 8 yr cast, and as thin as a layer of paint.
  13. anyone know or have a scale, line drawing (wireframe) of the top looking down on the hood/roof/bed. Preferable in either DXF or PDF format? I am trying to import a wireframe drawing into my Computer CAD/CAM package to do some graphic design work. TIA, Jim
